it rattles over bumps. the rubber bushings are shot. theres about 1/4 in of play in the diff when i wiggle the front driveshaft. i tightened the bolt as tight as i could because it was loose, and it didnt do any good. my guess is that its been loose for a while and vibrated the bushing and bored it out

man I wish I took pics of this, I did it earlier this year, and it was a bit of a bitch, because of the asymetrical design, using a jack to raise and lower it can be a pain, if you can get a hand it will help big time. In order to simply remove the half shaft of your steering column, from full straight, turn the wheel a quarter turn to the right (clockwise) and that will get you ample room to pull the 10mm bolt out with a wrench and another locked in for torque. Do your seals, oil, and diff cover. When you go to fill up the diff, bolt it back in and fill it from the driver side tube. The Bushings are a bit of a hassle, though the control arm bushings were worse. You will need a press and a similarly sized socket to press against the outer shel of the bushing to get em out. Also, just a tip, you dont need to take apart your entire suspension to remove the half shafts, upper ball joint, the IWE vaccum line, abs, and brake line brackets and remove the three Actuator bolts and that will give you the room to pull the axle, and retain your alignment.

I haven't noticed it, but I have 60k miles and almost only drive to off-road, off-road, and home from off-road. So I'm sure every bushing on the truck is going to need replaced sometime soon.
