hows he going to bleed it with the bleeders on the bottom??

personally i think they put the crossover brake line is installed on the wrong end.. can it be swapped out with the bleeder? Even the R1 logos are upside down..

Yes that was the case. R1 cannot get ther shit together. Wrong pre-install of the small brake line on caliper. No instructions.

R1 17” setup was a nightmare, I’m not surprised to see this thread. The 17” wheel setup does not only NOT fit an OEM wheel set, it also does not fit a 17” Enkie wheel set. It’s a joke really.

Additionally, OP, I HIGHLY suggest making sure you have clearance between your rear caliper and the rotor. I had to shave more than 50 thousandths form then rack to get it to fit without rubbing. The kit should have a shim system of some sort but it doesn’t.

Also, once install and you finally get them working fine, you’ll find that after aggressive turning there is enough flex in the footing rotors that it pushes the pads out ever so slightly and you will have 1 soft pedal stroke before having good feel back.

Somebody needs to make a truly tested, thorough, heavy duty brake system. If I had it to do over, I would not use R1 again.

All BBKs provide you with a fitment guide.. including a printable template to make sure your wheels fit.. The raptor is the 3rd truck i put a bbk into.. Never seen a shim system. Thats what the caliper bracket is for.

No real issues with my R1 BBK, just disappointed with the braking feel. Previous bbks were much more aggressive. SRT setup on my former Durango. And powerstop on my 4runner with 17" wheels.
The R1 is least aggressive..

Yes, I’m aware of the template and figment guide. That does not change the fact that the kit does not fit with 17’s. It simply does not, I’ve tried with multiple wheel sets.

The caliper bracket is actually not for shimming anything, it’s to mount the caliper. If there are manufacturing variances, and there are, how would you make adjustments for the tolerances and have the caliper lined up properly? You can’t without shims. My caliper hit my rotor initially due to exactly this issue. I ended up machining it and adjusting it in that manner. Baer brakes for instance come with shims.

I agree with you the braking feel as well. While the overall braking has improved, not to the degree I would have liked. R1 has a long way to go in my view.

I’m running the R1 Concept BBK with 17” and I’ve had zero issues. The wheels on my truck are RRW RR2. My kit had shims to get everything properly aligned.

I’m running the R1 Concept BBK with 17” and I’ve had zero issues. The wheels on my truck are RRW RR2. My kit had shims to get everything properly aligned.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I have a 2020 with EPB.

Also, are your rears 4 or 6 pistons? I ordered for a 17” wheel and the invoice stated a 4 piston rears, but what was shipped was 6 pistons rears.

Rears are 4 piston. Really sucks regarding the issues you have had. Really hope R1 makes things right for you.

It looks like the top of your caliper in the picture has an "L" milled into it. Does the other side have an "R" milled into it?
If you are referring to the second picture that isn’t a “L”. It their logo R1.
