I have a 19 802A. Does the Fordpass app push updates or does it need to be over wifi or USB? The whole updating process seems to be easily 10,000x more cumbersome than it needs to be.

Fordpass from your phone doesn't push the update. You have to do it from the head unit so wifi or usb. I recommend just doing it by USB since the DL size is pretty big at 1.2gb unzipped.

I completed mine. All good, but took a long while for SiriusXM to start working again. While checking out the new features, I have found out that mobile apps now work wirelessly, without my phone plugged in. Basically able to use Pandora, iHeart Radio without the phone plugged in. Pretty cool. Will load and try more apps. Waze working that way would be nice.

I also uploaded the completed log .xml file as shown below to the ford owner site, so it accurately knows what Sync release I am on for future releases.

Is there a list somewhere that shows what apps work with the Mobile Apps section? I clicked on the "Search for new apps" (or whatever the button is named) in the Mobile Apps section, but I got tired of waiting for it to do anything after a minute or two. Should it take that long? Was I just being too impatient?

Also, regarding uploading the XML file, I did the same, but when I go back into the Ford owner site after logging out and closing the website, when I log back in, it still shows "
A software update is available. Your SYNC system will be updated to SYNC3 v3.4.20136", even though I've definitely upgraded. Have you confirmed that yours shows you are up to date now?Maybe I just need to try uploading the XML file again.

I still get the same thing about 3.4 being available as an update for my truck. I’m guessing it may take some time on Fords end to actually update our account. Wouldn’t know how there database works. So will monitor.

If you poke around there is a mobile apps page that is available for your version of sync. Which is 3. It’s mostly comprised of streaming music, Waze, Alexa and a few other apps like these.

I can't figure out how to update my Ford site since i've now updated the truck. How did you guys get the XML file on the USB after you updated the truck? I plugged my USB back in and I don't see some file that was added after the update...

Are you saying I need to poke around in the mobile apps in the truck, or on my phone?

Did you look in the SyncMyRide folder on the USB drive? Assuming you used that drive to update your truck, and you got the "Update complete" message at the end, it should have written the file to the drive. On my drive, it's named "Sync_VXA708AA_VIN.xml" (where VIN is the truck VIN).

It’s not straight forward and while you maybe can say one or two mobile apps without plugging in the phone. You first need to plug-in and then if you unplug you should still see all or most of your mobile apps. I could then play Pandora and it streams via BT. So could be handy if you needed to unplug for a reason. At least that’s what I make out of it so far. This never worked at all since I had the truck on Sync 3.3

I did. Nothing there. Don't want to do it again for no reason as everything else is working perfectly. Maybe it doesn't do it since I used the cyanlabs process and files and not the Ford process. On Ford's website it says my 3.0 is up to date...

If you used the hack update, then I would bet you won’t get that log file.
