Well I spoke too soon..Im having issues with a very hard 1-2 shift on occasion. No other gears do this. And its not all the time. Would this be a programming issue or mechanical issue?

Wondering if I should ask for a PRX with stock transmission tune or maybe a PRX with the stock tow tune?
I have the same issue. With stock programming I don’t have this issue.

The hard 1-2 shift is indeed an MPT programming quirk. It isn't terrible, but can be annoying when driving in relative traffic. If you're in 2WD and poke it hard it will bark the tires on the 1-2 shift as well.

If you simply reflash the tune, it will work great until the trans adaptive learning is done and whatever MPT missed in their trans tune shows up. Note that the Cobb TCM tune doesn't have this minor issue. I lived with the MPT tune for a long time and was satisfied with it. That said, I switched to Cobb as soon as their Accesstuner software was available so I could do my own tweaks to their "baseline" OTS tuning.

Cobb is by far the most complete, thoroughly engineered hardware and software products available. Note that if you have their AT software, firmware and functional updates are free.

You're right, its not terrible but can be annoying, especially when you're light on the gas and you have a neck snapping shift for no reason.

I have reached out to MPT and they say they have made a big change since my last update in January so I will try it out and see how it goes. I am requesting a 93PRX with a stock shift pattern as well just incase.

How do you go about updating the tune? How do you know there’s an update to the PrX tune.

asking cause I ordered mines in April. Wondering if I have to reach out.

I had a reflash since my January tune. It is better however will still get some weird shifts here and there. I do like my MPT tune. Again I will say when I reflash for the first several miles is great. Really thinking of switching to Goosetune just not sure wanting to bite the bullet after paying for MPT twice for tunes as it still is ALOT better then stock and not sure if the change will be worth it.

I would just email them and ask. Thats the only way I know of. Its $18 right now to update. They will send you a new file once you fill out the form and pay.

I received the 93PRX w/Trans tune update and installed it right away. I ran it for about a month to see how I liked it. Overall its improved all around. It definitely feels quicker than before. The only thing I wonder is if the increase in throttle response is due to the actual tune or did they change the rate of throttle position? It feels almost touchy at times is the only reason I wonder. Comparing the normal mode to the sport mode, I feel like its faster than the sport mode. Whereas the sport mode wants to rev each gear out to 5000 RPM or so, the normal mode shifts quicker and keeps pulling much harder throughout the midrange, keeping you in the powerband. You notice this especially at about half throttle. 1-2 shifts are much improved. However, I think the overall shift tune could be a little more refined.

They also sent me a 93PRX w/o Trans tune and this is what I am running now. Much smoother but still has the power to match the shorter shifts that keep it at a lower RPM. I am going to run this for a while and see how I like it. I may just leave it this way since if I feel like I need a different shift I can just hit the sport mode, otherwise I retain the smooth shifting in everyday driving.

Stk it goes 1-3-5. If I recall. Mpt takes that out and it goes 12345... you’d think that would be better but it isn’t. It’s jerky. I had them but the skip shift back in and it cleared up the issue
