I wish it was that easy of a fix! I have a bad clunk—obnoxiously loud—when I come to a complete stop after going 35+ mph. Right when I hit the 10 mph mark, the clunk always happens. It feels like multiple gears are dropping at one time and you can feel/hear it.

I ordered a Cobb Accessport, so I was going to run a tune and see if when the adaptive tables are reset, the clunk goes away. But it has me concerned that something else could be wrong with the transmission because it is butter smooth everywhere else.

I had a friend that faced such a problem when he changed his old engine. The problem was related to the pcm and tcm connection. And all the necessary updates and flashes were done with no improvement the last thing I heard was the valve body was damaged and they asked for a ridiculous amount of cash to change it, and my friend went with a used trans and things are going well with him.

I hope its not the same case and you get it sorted out with a flash.

Interesting how this thread morphed into a bashing Ford engine thread, however, as Ford moves away from the V8 in their trucks the more rare the 6.2 becomes. I think the Gen1 will go down as a modern day classic, but only time will tell so let's see. As for the new raptor, they will need to put some type of electric engine in it to please all the yuppies our here that buy them, imo.

Id rather have the 707hp Hellcat under the hood of my truck, but maybe that’s just me?[/QUOTE

yeah & I don’t blame you & that’s fine. I promised to no longer expound on Fords inadequacies as a “has been” V8 industry leader...so I’ll just say I’m very happy w/ my gen2 HO 3.5 EB engine & will be very interested to see what the Gen3 hybrid will look like. I have an not the least upset Ford didn’t go backwards in design.

I’ll definitely take a TRX for a test drive in the very least tho lol!

I would be surprised if anyone else who currently owns a Gen1 doesn't share your opinion on that. I hope you're right. I hope the same thing happens with the Gen 2, but I think the Gen 3 is going to be too similar, yet improved for that to happen. By that I mean that the Gen 1 is V8, while the Gen 2 has more HP and other tech, so there are reasons to want either Gen. Between the Gen 2 and Gen 3, I don't think the Gen 2 will have anything isn't matched or better in the Gen 3.

Unless they drop the Scab configuration, the the Gen2 Scabs will be desirable to a select group.

-I pretend exhaust note is more important than actual engine performance
-I financed a decade old truck for 60 months
-I believe all Gen 2 owners troll Starbucks and malls
-The phrase "cam phasers" can be found in >50% of my replies
-I claim ecoboost engines aren't reliable enough for myself because I need something durable because I'm an avid off-roader
-I've never actually shared an off-road video or photo of myself
-I'm more likely to hit "like" when I see a photo of someone who swapped their red steering wheel stripe for a grey one than I am of someone who posts an off-road video/photo
