Anyone have a pic of 2019 OEM beadlocks setup as beadlocks?

It’s clear 3m just a flares and hood. I actually set the appointment for ceramic coating. It’s crazy how everything is washing off after the ceramic coating is applied

What did you pay for the ceramic coating application?

In Chicago market they average from $1300 and up... That’s including paint correction and wheel plus interior detail. I’m going get my done for $1000 because the guy who does coating is good friend of mine.. he would be better friend if he would do it for $500... Just saying lol

And would probably get a Christmas card if he did it for free!

A true beadlock is a 2-piece wheel that literally clamps the outer bead of the tire to the wheel.

The forged beadlock wheel option on the Raptors allows you to do this when you buy a separate ring. You remove a trim ring, then you dismount the outer bead, install the new beadlock ring.

The pro’s are that you can’t roll a bead off. Which can happen running low pressure like at the sand dunes.

The cons are that you have to purchase it separately and they aren’t DOT legal. Technically. So no major tire shop will touch them.

Thanks for your detailed response. I'm also new to this bead lock thing. I know what they do, but was confused with what Ford was calling their optional bead lock wheel. I bought a 2019 Raptor with the stock wheels, but really liked the optional bead locks because they're grey and match my Magnetic Raptor. I found a set of take offs and had them installed. I removed the cosmetic ring, so it was easier to have the tires mounted and no chance of damaging them. It was obvious that they were fake bead locks, but now I see you can buy the ring and convert them. Thanks again.

Hey Don. You’re out by me so this would apply. The CHP station out in Ventura pulls anyone over that appears to have beadlocks and checks if they are being used as beadlocks. They got a bunch of Jeeps from the sfv Jeep club heading up to pismo on Friday. They mentioned that last month another bunch was pinched too. The were specifically pulled over for “safety inspections”

Learned a lot on this thread. I got the headlocks on my 19 cuz I loved the look. My off-roading is virtually all hardback and some mud/slush (NW Montana) so I don’t need to go low pressure.

Was wondering if anyone has removed the trim ring and powder coated it?

I had read somewhere that the BFG KO2s OEM'd from Ford are custom meant for beadlocking and low tire pressure situations. They are made up of different materials when compared to the standard KO2s sold through most tire centers. Is that true? If 'yes', does Ford source the OEM version through the dealer network?
