Zzzz. Lost me at Ram. But it's nice they keep trying.

Owned 18 Raptor, two 19's, 20 and have no intention of buying a Ram ever again. And yes I've owned two of those things. Junk and resale in toilet.

RAM is a RAM.

Love your 2 cents. And agree fully. Count me in if Ford comes to it's senses and makes a V8 Raptor. Doubtful though. I just wish there was a V8 option.

It's not about taking a shot it's about how naive that post was. You don't have to have the slowest car at the track to run the slowest time. Does that metaphor make sense ?

The part about ford needing a V8 to get your business when the Gen 2 raptor is MILES ahead of the Gen 1 raptor in EVERY category except noise and you sell it and say "above all else I need a V8 regardless if the V6 was better in every performance measure" is such a ricer thing to say .

Then you want to say " oh I have had some fast muscle cars like a vettes ,Trans Am etc etc and the demon runs circles around them all" ......ok first if all a vette isn't a muscle car , TA and every other muscle car is a low 13/mid 12 so comparing that to a demon..ummm ok. Lastly poor choice of words, the 4200lb+ demon isn't running " circles " around anything . If you are just saying " burn rubber fast" well ok....cool measure of performance.

All of your points are just the Good ol boy point of view and have ZERO logic .

First of all you should read a little more carefully. I never said I had a Demon. I have a Redeye. Have you ever even driven one?? And I feel sure a L88 Vette is a pretty good muscle car.

I wouldn't say the Gen2 is "miles" ahead of the Gen1. I have had both. Have you? I like both trucks. Just like the V8 better.

You are entitled to your opinion and I am to mine. I have been on this forum for 9 years. And you have for 30 days. Not saying I am better or smarter but just maybe a little more "experienced".

Not sure what kind of vehicle you have but I am guessing a Gen2. Those owners are very touchy.

Good luck from a good old boy. Looks like you will need it.

I'm just curious!? Did you ever take your Gen 2 off road more then once? I have both, the Gen 1 isn't even in the same league as the Gen 2, its a completely different truck lol.

I took both trucks off road many times. I didn't abuse them so I probably didn't use them to their full capabilities. I agree the Gen2 is a much better truck in most situations. I liked both. But if Ford ever makes a V8 Raptor you will see which one buyers prefer.

Hmmm :smiley-face-popcorn

Well a lot has been said and many ways to look at this. I like what @FordTechOne said. Do you think Ford is going to let someone drastically cut there market share?

When your on top, everyone is going to be gunning for you. Your the standard. Take for instance the heavy duty wars. Powerstroke, Cummins, Duramax. Each diesel has taken the power lead over the years. The tow weights have increased. Look who’s on top this year. Ford again. This will go on and on, but #1 wants to keep being #1.

Who is Tesla gunning for? #1! Will Ford respond? I have to think so or the future in this market looks grim.

So back to the near future. If the Raptor is matched or beat performance wise, Ford will have to respond I certainly would think. In what way? This is truly anyone’s guess. Ford has hybrid options, and several engine choices to choose from. Offer engine choice’s in a specific limited segment “Performance brand” vehicle? I don’t know if I have ever seen a Ford Performance or SVT vehicle in the past to offer this.

It’s going to be interesting and fun to watch. Competition keeps it all going.

I speculate we’ll end up with two Raptors. A plain jane Raptor with a ecoboost hybrid like the one in the Lincoln Aviator (which makes 500hp) and then MAYBE a Raptor R with the Mustang GT500’s V8. That’ll let Ford keep the Raptor’s starting price at the mid $50K range while a Raptor R can go nuts and cross into the $100K range.

I would like to see Ford Performance come up to the same level Mopar is. It’s amazing how a company that produces high performance vehicle won’t invest the time and money in the after sales performance market.
