Mine is a week old 2020:

View attachment 141168

Yours looks kind of cool on the front view!

Well I picked up my truck yesterday after the dealership replaced the front camera on Wednesday. To my dismay, the front camera still doesn’t work in the 360 degree view. It will work in the other front camera views—just not in the 360 degree view. So I guess we will try this again next week!

I didn't know it had a 360 view. I guess I have some more reading to do.

Not a Ford tech but work with computers and other electronics to have some idea here... if it works solo but it's jacked up in 360 mode, then based on that and the picture you provided, it doesn't seem like the front camera to me, seems like a loose pin/connector at an aggregator of some sort. Could be wrong but there's probably a lead from the camera that splits - one straight shot for the single view, and a second that is fed into a multiplexer and combined with the other cameras. From that picture, looks like that lead may be loose or something. Half way unplug your computer monitor and you'll see what I mean. Like I said, not a Ford tech and I don't have their schematics or anything but; it what it looks like to me.... @FordTechOne does this sound ballpark accurate?

Your theory is correct in that the front camera is not typically the root cause if it functions properly in all modes except for the 360 degree view.

The system actually uses the same circuits for all modes of operation. Each camera has a twisted and shielded pair of video circuits along with power and ground circuits. The system is controlled by the Image Processing Module B (IPM-B), which communicates with the front and rear camera over a LIN bus. The IPM-B generates the image displayed on the screen, including the 360 view. The LIN bus allows the IPM-B and cameras to communicate the following:
  • Camera view request
  • Camera configuration data
  • Display manual zoom request (rear camera only)
  • Trailer connection status (if equipped with trailer tow)
  • Standby enable/disable request
Since the front camera was already replaced, I'd suspect an issue with the IPM-B. However, the other possibility is a camera quality issue from the supplier that is causing the image issue when the IPM-B requests the 360 view over the LIN.

i am going to the dealer tomorrow to have the issue checked out. Both of my cameras are acting up (front and rear) intermittently and I have 60 miles only on a new 2020 raptor. I your guys’ opinion, should I show the dealer this thread, or do they hate that? I don’t want them wasting time replacing cameras when the issue might be the IPMB

They generally don't care to see internet threads; they cannot submit a warranty claim based on second hand information. However, if you have a very unique issue and a forum has photo and/or video evidence to re-inforce what you're experiencing, the dealer may ask for that support their request for engineering help from the manufacturer. But more often than not, you're better off just explaining/showing the issue for service.

After my second trip to the dealership, my front camera is finally working now. The service advisor told me the technician did a half-tail job on the calibration when he was trying to reprogram the front camera after he replaced it. This is why my front camera wouldn't work in 360 degree mode—so they say lol @FordTechOne @Venerous

I wouldn't doubt it, the procedure is quite involved. Not something you can rush through.

I had this particular issue with the front camera on my 2020. In the beginning, lightly pushing on the back of the connector would temporarily fix the issue, but it got worse over time. I took it to my dealer who had already ordered a replacement front camera. When they took the connector out, there was a pin that was slightly shorter than the others. They reseated that pin and the camera worked great. It's a simple fix that may solve this issue for some.

Pushed out pin in the connector; not at all uncommon in any mass produced wiring harness. Thanks for posting!
