SVC bolt on install

I have so many questions so let's start with this one. What exactly do you mean you removed the entire lower IC? Do you really mean you removed the shroud and louvers to make room for your lights?

If you removed your shroud and louvers then you must have removed the louver actuator so you could plug the harness back into?

As you can see I notched it to make room for the light mount, bit I didn’t realize that I needed space for the lights and also the bumper will not sit flush unless you remove the entire lower intercooler. This involves removing the grill.

Why do you have to lift the truck to access those bolts? I assume you are saying this because the bolts were hard to access when the truck is on the ground?

My GEN1 bumper also required the use of the steering rack bolts. The procedure was to park it on level ground and support the rack because when you remove the bolts the rack would drop. I actually reused my steering rack bolts in my gen1 with no issues.

Do you have the part# for the GEN2 steering rack bolts?

Oh 1 more thing. Make sure you like your intercooler because the new skid plate arms do not allow access to remove it unless you remove the entire bumper and Ford recommends that those steering bolts are 1 time use. Not to mention you’re gonna need to lift the truck. Replacement steering bolts are $8 each online. Torque is a whopping 325. My torque wrench maxed out at 150 so I’m going to have to get it tightened somewhere down the line.

yes i meant the shroud and lovers. I detached the motor and zip tied it behind the grill. I assumed I would get an alert if i kept it unplugged.

The reason you have to lift the truck is because you will need a large breaker bar and you wont have room if the truck is on the floor. You can remove the bolt but to get it back on you can only start the bolt with a 12 or 18 inch ratchet but you cant get a bigger bar in there unless you jack it up. That was my experience.

YES! Every manufacturer of parts sold without install instructions should learn from ADD- excellent, great pictures, step by step, and answers the common questions posed during install.

Yes it would be helpful but from what i understand ADD has a rust issue so I went with SVC and although they didn't include instructions, they were very helpful on the phone and through email. Dominic went out of his way to find info for me.

Got it. I have an impact gun so I should be good.

I ordered the svc bumper last night because SVC had a sale. I am adding the top hoop to run 4 LP6s and I saved $200 on my order.

The bumper should arrive at the end of April.
