I just purchased a 2020 and was planning on having it delivered to my house tomorrow. Dealership just called me and said when they put the VIN in, it came back with a recall that hey have to fix before they can sell the truck. They said there is no fix yet so they are waiting on the TSB and then I can take delivery. Said it should be about a week.

He said it was about a transmission cable issue. He is going to send me more info and I will post what I find. This truck was built on Feb 28th, 2020.

when i put your VIN in the recall checker, yes, it does show a recall.

However, it does not show me one with my own VIN. I've got a 2020 Screw too, so apparently only related to specific build dates, at least as of now. Or, mine was completed before purchase.

Thanks for the heads up. I just picked up mine on the 31st, production began on the 10th. I haven't heard anything about this and didn't experience any delay in delivery but will definitely check into it now. Thanks!

Thanks for that, I googled VIN recall checker and I see it now. Just came out 3 days ago and they cannot sell a vehicle until this is fixed.

VIN: 1FTFW1RG9LFB54268
Year: 2020 Make: FORD Model: F-150
Number of Open Recalls: 1

NHTSA Recall
Date: April 3, 2020
Manufacturer Recall Number: 20S18

SUMMARY:
ON SOME OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, A CLIP THAT LOCKS THE GEAR SHIFT CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION MAY NOT BE FULLY SEATED. OVER TIME, A PARTIALLY SEATED CLIP MAY ALLOW THE TRANSMISSION TO BE IN A GEAR STATE DIFFERENT THAN THE GEAR SHIFT POSITION SELECTED BY THE DRIVER. THIS COULD ALLOW THE DRIVER TO MOVE THE SHIFTER TO PARK AND REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY, WHILE THE TRANSMISSION GEAR MAY NOT BE IN PARK. IF THE PARKING BRAKE IS NOT APPLIED, THIS COULD CONDITION COULD RESULT IN UNINTENDED VEHICLE MOVEMENT.
SAFETY RISK:
OVER TIME, A PARTIALLY SEATED LOCK CLIP MAY ALLOW THE TRANSMISSION TO BE IN A GEAR STATE DIFFERENT THAN THE GEAR SHIFT POSITION SELECTED BY THE DRIVER AND MAY RESULT IN THE VEHICLE MOVING IN AN UNINTENDED DIRECTION. THIS CONDITION COULD ALSO ALLOW THE DRIVER TO MOVE THE SHIFTER TO PARK AND REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY, WHILE THE TRANSMISSION GEAR MAY NOT BE IN PARK. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DISPLAY WILL CONTINUE TO SHOW THE CORRECT TRANSMISSION GEAR STATE, WHICH MAY NOT MATCH THE GEAR SHIFT POSITION SELECTED BY THE DRIVER. IF THE PARKING BRAKE IS NOT APPLIED, THIS COULD RESULT IN UNINTENDED VEHICLE MOVEMENT, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY OR CRASH.
REMEDY:
OWNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY MAIL AND INSTRUCTED TO TAKE THEIR VEHICLE TO A FORD OR LINCOLN DEALER TO HAVE THE SHIFT CABLE LOCKING CLIP VISUALLY INSPECTED AND PROPERLY SEATED IF NECESSARY. THERE WILL BE NO CHARGE FOR THIS SERVICE. FORD IS EXCLUDING REIMBURSEMENT FOR COSTS BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY PROGRAM WOULD PROVIDE FOR A FREE REPAIR FOR THIS CONCERN. FORD WILL FORWARD A COPY OF THE NOTIFICATION LETTERS TO DEALERS TO THE AGENCY WHEN AVAILABLE.
RECALL STATUS:
Recall INCOMPLETE. Remedy not yet available
MANUFACTURER NOTES:
TO CHECK FOR NON-SAFETY-RELATED PROGRAMS APPLICABLE TO YOUR VEHICLE, SEE HTTP://WWW.FORD.COM/ OR CALL YOUR FORD DEALER.

Roger, thanks. Yeah, showing there for me. Standby to standby for now it seems. Good lookin out brother.

LOL, you got yours 3 days early otherwise if you would of taken delivery on the 3rd, they wouldn't be able to.
Never heard of such a thing to hold up a sale. I made an offer on another one at another dealership for a 2020 and that one doesn't show, that one was built Oct 23, 2019. Now wondering if I should wait on this white one or get the blue one without the recall now. It's not like I can drive it anywhere with the state lock down.
