Been lurking on the forum for while. With this extra free time some of us have had lately, I decided to finally make an account.
I picked up a new 19 802a in white back in November. Traded in a 15 Lariat for this beast, and I will tell ya, I am happy I did it. You guys did not oversell on how awesome these trucks are.
I had been wanting to get a Raptor for a while, but just couldn't bring myself to do it since the Raptors do not qualify for Z plan pricing. I was not even seriously looking for a new truck yet, but with all the 19s that were sitting on the lots here in Houston, I reached out to a few dealers. I was surprised when a dealer threw a number at me that was better than Z plan. Well, I couldn't pass on that deal!
So far the only issue the truck has is a whistling that starts at about 65 mph, and pretty noticeable at about 75. At first, it would only happen when the AC was on recirculate, if you turned that off, it went away. Now it happens with recirc on or off. I think its related to the GSM about air sealing, but not sure. I will take it in to the dealer after all this corona lock down stuff is over with, just haven't been looking forward to them ripping the dash out to fix it.
The only "mod" I have done is cut down the factory antenna to be just an inch taller than the truck. Not really even sure you could call that a mod, but at least it doesn't whack the clearance bar at the parking garage at work anymore. I also did some Forscan stuff, but that's easy (had the bluetooth adapter from my last truck).
Definitely going to do some actual mods, I just gotta space them out a little more than some of you guys here!
Near future (just looking for a deal):
1) BD pro squadron fog lights.
2) BD pro either S1 or S2 rear lights
3) Onboard air (still figuring out a few details on this one)
Round 2 (probably end of the year):
1) FMIC intercooler
2) Winch compatible frame cut bumper, with winch
3) Built Right bed system
Round 3 (probably next year):
1) 37s with rear leafs and front springs (not sure I want to give up the parking garage yet)
2) 0 offset wheels (mainly so chains can be used in a pinch)
3) Cobb Stage 2 with TCM
4) VHF
5) ARE bed cap
Thanks for all the info yall share on this forum. It has certainly been helpful when trying to figure out things to do/spend money on! The wife isn't gonna be happy, but life is all about compromises right?
