More videos of it running plz!!!!!!

If you check out expedition x offroad's youtube channel, you'll see my truck in the videos from the last year and a half. I know a few folks got some video on the last trip. When I see it, I'll share it.

I guess I'm due to document where things stand now.

So, At the current stage of this build, I've gone Full Retard.

Specs on the truck are as follows ( at least the things that are staying for sure):

Front Suspension: SVC Mid-travel kit. King 2.5s & 3.5s . My truck is an oddball. It is cycling damn near 18" of front travel now.

Rear suspension: modified SVC bypass rack. SVC bump stop kit. King 4.0s, king bumps, SVC traction bars, SVC shackles.

Engine compartment mods: Full Race Radiator, Full Race Trans cooler, Cobb Intake, Painless Trailrocker, SP9100, 2019 engine cover, mishimoto overflow tank. Cobb Stage 2 tune, SVC intercooler, Turbosmart BOV.

I'm running method 701s.

Lowrance HDS7 Live, TK790 radio, Also run leadnav from time to time.

SVC baja bumper in the front. SDHQ pillar mounts. 7x BD XL lights ( some racers, some pros ), 30" BD lightbar, squadrons and s2s behind the grill, gj motorsports 3rd brake light, additional squadrons for chase lights, s2s for backup lights.

RPG rear bumper.

The spares are sunken into the rear of the bed.

Foutz Skids

RCI gas tank skid

Things I'm currently working on or re-doing:

Figuring out bodywork to clear 40" KR3s

reworking the bed cage slightly.

new leaf springs ( going Icon)

Redoing the exhaust.

Researching a motor swap to V8.

replacing seats with non-suspension seats.

Researching restraints.

waiting for a new rear axle ( currie F9 housing with all the trimmings, 4" wider than stock, 10" ring gear w/ an ARB)

Upgrading brakes ( going alcons )

Truck will get re-wrapped as soon as its back together.

Follow me on instagram @whoisthatdaveguy to see pics and vids. I will start taking video of my teardown after the last run to show folks what breaks, what to watch out for and to offer tips on prep for adventures like heading to Baja.

What did you do allow your truck to cycle nearly 18" in the front? I thought the SVC stated their mid travel kit cycles 15-16".

Also what are your travel numbers for the rear suspension?

Awesome build by the way!

The Mid-travel kit that is on my truck is one of, if not the first Gen2 kit that SVC produced. It is different in a few ways from what they are selling now. It took TMX, SVC and myself a bit of time and massaging to get it working right. My shock package and setup is also different than the current setups. All of this nets me 17.5 ish inches of front travel.

The rear of my truck cycles 21" when measured on jackstands from full droop, to full compression of the bumpstops.

In reality, gravity being what it is, there is probably another 1" of droop in the truck, as the 40s, alcon brakes, 4" tube housing Currie F9, etc are quite a bit heavier than the stock components.

If you go spring under, you might pick up another 1.5-2" in exchange for a whole lot of headaches.

If you try to notch the frame, you could pick up some travel, but say goodbye to your factory gastank for any true uptravel gains. The bed floor is also in the way.

To really get multiple inches of additional travel, you have to back-half the truck and go full HAM.

I'm not keen on the extra maintenance that would bring on this particular truck. I'll eventually start a new truck that is linked, but not until this one is complete and dialed.

Awesome build! Do you happen to have any pics of the interior? I noticed you had schroth harnesses listed - curious how you have that set up. Is your truck caged? Thanks!

I guess time for an Update?

The front now sports a Mcneil one-piece Front end. It tilts forward and is supported with gas shocks.

I ditched the factory bed completely. The "bed" is a jungle gym now and the bedsides have their own supports made out of steel.

The truck is currently configured as 2wd. Front differential has been removed. Running 2wd f-150 hubs.

I'm now running alcon rotors front and rear.

I've ditched the factory upfitter switches and now run switchpros for everything.

Next up will be getting the truck detailed, then wrapped, then rewiring all of the accessories.

Sometime in the spring it'll finally go for a cage and an interior "freshen up".

Outside of the cage, there will be some slight massaging, but she's pretty much "done" for the time being. (until the motor needs to be replaced, then it'll get sporty again)

Can't wait to finish her up so I can do some shock tuning and let 'er rip.
