We sell upgrades mods for raptor owners every day. But don't add it up, just enjoy what you got.
I honestly do not know what I've spent on mods over the years other than its over $30k easy.
But I do not know the number. That way when the wife ask how much I've spent on it, I can honestly tell her that I do not know, because I don't. She has given up and the best xmas gift last year was this small note on the xmas card.

So in my brief time here I have been amazed buy the amount information that is available for us upcoming Raptor owners. My question here is as follows; there seems to be about 7 million mods that are available for Raptor upgrades. Is there a thread or place where someone has listed the most popular mods for the interior, exterior and engine/brakes/suspension?

It just seems everyday I find a couple of other items I never knew that I needed. My budget for everything is currently at $140k.........and it's not even a Shelby!

My best advice is to go slowly. A lot of uninformed people on here and a lot of zealots.
Unless you are sure of EXACTLY what you want start slow..say lights then maybe stereo but make sure you know what you want from the stereo.
A lot of people needlessly sacrifice rear floor space for Subs when you can place everything behind the seats.

Suspension should be the last thing you consider once you've determined what you are going for. Suspension is hard to undo and suspension is always about compromise.

Don't do a tune Don't do a tune Don't do a tune until you, again, know exactly what you're going for. Tunes are the single most risky thing you can do to your truck as far as warranty goes.

Don't mess with forescan. A lot of people go for the bells and forget about the whistles. For example you have to turn off the battery management system for some of the most popular settings. Know ahead of time what you want and the implication.

Take one thing at a time and go slow. If for example you do suspension you must do both front and rear to keep the truck balanced. If you go for wheels pay attention to offsets as you wouldn't want to create rubbing or have an issue if you decide to do jumps...or maybe you do...LOL either way just be sure to tackle each thing methodically and know that most people race headstrong into crap they don't completely understand.

You're right there is a lot of fantastic information on here but also a lot of strongly biased not based in fact or reality opinion as well. It's up to you to filter through the dirt to find the gems.

I’d mostly agree except on the tune front, in fact I don’t even consider someone really “living that raptor life” w/o running a performance tune lol!! Seriously, a good pet of the reason I left GM V8s for this Raptor was for the sheer ease of tunability & upgraded power for under $1k - shit, you can’t even start building big power on V8 trucks before you drop $2k+ on a set of headers & mids!!!

I would say absolutely get a tune, but just do your research, & go w/ a company w/ years of experience tuning Fords, FI platforms, & especially tuning automatic trannies. I’ll leave it at that.

don’t get a tune - eh? +70-100whp for $550-$750? It’s basically the best bang for buck mod you can do, period.

I think having Forscan and the ability to set the truck up the way I want is one of the best things about this vehicle. You need to take the time to educate yourself and be careful, but you end up with a vehicle customized the way you want (I hate ESS - engine start/stop).

Because of the warranty implications. Tunes on an engine will almost invalidate any claim that's engine related. It's a HUGE gamble. As far as to benefits...I have a tune and have since de installed it. I'm not that impressed. It certainly makes a noticeable difference but not so much so that I just have to have it. The truck is plenty powerful without the tune and because most people drive their truck daily on the street the loss in fuel mileage isn't worth it. Some people need every last ounce of HP/TQ they can get but for me 450/510 is plenty plus not having to worry about the extra stress on engine and drive train parts that weren't designed for the extra HP and the warranty concerns. I'm just saying make sure that it important to you and make sure you don't care about warranty claims being denied before going down the tune path.

The Battery Control Module(BCM) monitors the battery and shuts things off to preserve battery amongst other things. If you want to disable auto start for example the required forescan settings have you shut off the BCM.
