I just upgraded my coil overs and rear shocks to Fox 3.0 DSC. I work in oil field and travel through rough ass wash board roads. Any suggestions on leaf springs? Trying to get smoothest ride possible

I run Icon and very happy with them. Very smooth on highway. Most run Deavers. Little stiffer than Icon, but no complaints on how smooth they are.

yeah ive been reading alot of people having Deavers but wanted to see if any “one” was that much greater than the other. I know sometimes these mods are subjective but the more responses the merrier. Appreciate your feed back

You can't go wrong with either one, Deavers or Icons.
Both offer a variety of configurations,
Standard Duty, Heavy Duty, Extra Heavy Duty
Ride height from stock to 4" lift.

It comes down to what are you using the truck for really.

Yeah im slowly learning quite a bit from the varieties. I wont be pulling any trailers or carrying loads so i know i wont have to get too crazy with it. But these rough ass wash board roads are the annoying part. Just trying to soften the way truck feels a bit. And i dont see very many negative results for either, just minor things about stiffness. So i guess its a good sign for either choice i end up making ‍♂️ Thanks for feed back

Then I would go SD +3, and then play with the DSC.
I believe the 3.0 in the front raises the front an 1" or so.
And if you go +3 the rear springs will be 1" higher ride height in the rear over stock.
Having the truck level does give the best ride in my opinion.

How are you liking the 3.0s so far, from feed back on here most say they are stiffer than stock 2.5s

I'm on the fence myself with going to 3.0s.
I would go to SD rear springs instead of the extra HDs now since I have traction bars now.
I don't have to worry about wheel hop anymore being Supercharged.

Well i never got to feel the 2.5. I went from stock straight to 3.0. And they feel a hell of a lot better than stock. My shocks were already over due so not sure if its because my stock were that bad or these 3.0 are that good lol. Still playing with the settings a bit since im driving through the roughest damn wash board roads in New Mexico, so definitely being put to the test. Considering the condition of these roads, the truck feels pretty damn good. Now it aint a pillow ride, hence, looking for new leaf springs lol

Sorry, I changed my last post after you quoted it.

OEM Fox Shocks for the Gen 1 Raptors are 2.5
And I'm already needing service or new.
And I only have 35,000 hard NYC pot hole miles on her in 9 1/2 years

Is the spring rate on the Deavers more than Icon? Or the feel is that they're stiffer? I've heard the spring rates for Icon are actually higher than factory, and Deaver is lower than factory...

I'm embarrassed to say I've spent way more money on suspension components than I should have, but hind sight is 20/20. Everyone's ass and feel are different. I read all the reviews and threads and went one way on suspension. Didn't like it and decided to change. It's been a few days, but what I can remember Deavers +2 SD were more planted with higher/stiffer spring rate over stock. By all means nothing like a 1/2 ton, but you will feel the bumps in the road. The Icons have a softer ride. I'm not running the add -a-leaf so I would put them between stock and Deavers on spring rate.
