My dash cam came in today and I was wondering what’s the best way to run the wire for the rear cam?
Is it possible to use two mirror taps one for the cam and the other for radar? Not sure if it’s to much draw or even if the pins will fit.

Why did you choose the BLACKVUE?
Interested in a dash cam myself.

Do you have part #s for everything you got there?

I think it would be best if you watched the video on the BlackVue site. It’s really good.

It was the camera that kept coming up when I was looking around, everyone who had one liked it so ‍♂️ Why not. The only negative thing was the price for some. I bought it on Amazon

I heard good things about BlackVue. Supposedly have been very big with the Tesla crowd until they got the native dash cam support.

I was looking to go this route and tie it into the hotspot in the truck. More so for security reasons than driving purposes in regards to sending snapshots to me.

i have been running the Blackvue for 14 months. It is flawless. Needed to pull video 3 times in 14 months, and it is always there. Other then that, i never EVER touch it.

Install was about 20 mins. for front and back.

I use the 590w 1080p front and back.

I chose to not use a battery, and have it wired into the accessory for the truck. I park in a garage all the time. I am not worried about parking lot issues at work.

The accessory stays hot for 1 hour after you turn the truck off. So that covers me for trips to Wall Mart or Home Depot where I may even consider parking lot coverage. this way I don't have to worry about the device ever draining my battery.

I used a 1 TB memory card that lets me keep footage for weeks before it over writes itself.

This video happened 2 days after I installed it.

Here is the front mount. You can see the rear mount in the mirror.

I was looking at a similar dash cam from blackVue in 1080p but ended up going with Viofo A129 Dual mainly due to price. I'm extremely happy with the Viofo in 1080p.

I ended up wiring to the fuse box on the passenger side with fuse taps. I have my radar already tapped into the mirror. I doubt there is enough room for 2 pins but running it to the fuse box was extremely easy and felt safer having the cam on its own fuse. I believe for this cam it needed to be ran to the fuse box for constant power for parking mode.
