anyone else notice very fought shifts in and out of 3rd and 8th? This transmission also cant seem to find a gear at times.

Any ideas on how to help this tranny? Who does a good TCU tune?
Thanks

I agree with you totally, I find this transmission to be flawed. Shifting in manual is actually much better and doesn't have the issues.

Occasionally when cold it seems to have trouble from 4th to 5th, kind of like it's slipping. Maybe it's confused about what gear it should be in. It's really pronounced about 2/3 to 1/2 throttle. When it warms up it's not too bad.

I have tried shifting the transmission manually and can't stand it due to a delayed response. It has been my experience that you need to request the shift a good second or two before you really want it in order for it to shift at the right time.

I have some of the same "issues" at 3rd and 8th. After my tune, I don't see it anymore at 8 and I only see it on 3 when Im just starting my car (or its cold) and I'm decelerating to brake. Other than that, everything is smooth sailing and the tunes response is great!

I should mention, it took a good 400 miles after the tune for the adaptive learning to get everything straightened out.

Mine as well. Considering Ford claims to shift within milliseconds, shifts are very delayed. Sport mode is crap as well. Disconnecting the battery will help but it doesn't fix my 18 shift patterns.

dissagree....shifting manual is futile because of the lag.....very slow to respond to paddle input
