My fuel pump went out in January of 2017 on my Gen 1—had nothing to do with fuse 27. The truck would turn over, but it wasn't getting fuel to the engine.
Thanks I’ll guess I’ll be towing to the dealership Monday morning and figure it out. How much did the new fuel pump cost ya if you don’t mind me asking?

It was all under warranty, so Ford towed it to the closest dealership and paid for the labor. I will get the invoice out of my truck and post it shortly. What sucks is that the fuel pump is inside the gas tank, so the gas tank has to be dropped to replace it. Maybe you can do it yourself?

Thanks I appreciate it. I’ve never messed with the gas tank and fuel pump so I will let someone do it

How many miles on your Gen1 before the fuel pump died?

30K miles on a 2014. I couldn't believe it when it happened. I was the original owner and had ran premium gas from day one, while also running a fuel tank additive every 5k miles to minimize fuel injector deposits and intake valve deposits, and so on.

I have two suspicions for why it happened:

1) My truck sat for most of its first year of life. When I moved to Dallas during the summer of 2015, a Ford dealership right by the Cowboys stadium had a brand new 14 Ruby Red SE SCREW Raptor never titled with 30 miles on it. In short, it had been on display in Cowboys stadium since the 2014 models came off the assembly line (the Cowboys are sponsored by Ford, so they get display vehicles every year for their stadium). Given that Ford was discontinuing the Gen 1 and I was able to get it for MSRP (when Raptor prices were crazy) I bought it. So it probably sat with the same fuel for that entire year and maybe the fuel played a part in the pump going bad.

2) A couple weeks prior to the fuel pump failing, I spent the holidays in the Tetons. On some days, the temps never got above zero degrees. The coldest it got was -37F degrees. After a couple of weeks being back home in Texas, the pump failed.

@KCM I thought Ford included the prices of what it would have cost if I didn't have the warranty, but they zeroed everything out. You can look up the part numbers to make sure your dealership isn't taking advantage of you. Hope you get this resolved!

I suspect my fuel pump may go out soon.

I have been getting intermittent extended startups.
About 4 cranks prior to the engine starting up.

I replaced the FPDM.
Someone mentioned on here if I had a problem with FPDM, pcv, or egr the truck would throw a code (check engine light)

At this point I am not going to chase a ghost.

The extended startups is intermittent. I will wait till something fails.

Recently my trucks been starting like you mentioned, intermittently takes a little longer to startup. I didn’t think much of it at the time. I’ll keep you updated when I figure out if it’s actually my fuel pump.

I never had the symptoms of longer/intermittent starts like you all have described. My truck started fine to work the morning the fuel pump went out. When I left to go to lunch, my truck wouldn’t start.

Got everything fixed for now. Didn’t end up going to the dealership. There was mud on top of my gas tank that was not letting the fuel pump have full connection. In the diagnostic I was getting a faulty fuel circuit code. Guessing it got up there that last couple times in the dirt and it recently rained a good amount so that must’ve did it. I had a mobile mechanic company helping me that is also a pit crew for mustangs and work on raptors installing supercharges and everything else. They said if it happens again we need to fully drop the tank and look into the fuel pump. Hoping it’s fixed because I don’t wanna get stranded. Anyone heard of this happening or ways to prevent it?
