I did watch the video on them. That little motor is making some power no doubt! Will you qualify for the 3/36000 racing it however?

in your case do you really need or just want all the stock functionality back that the truck comes with from factory? Are you still putting it on the street a lot? It would be nice to have a fully functioning truck like factory in ways if so.

When you strip all of the decals and headrests and other ancillary "package" contents, the price hyperfast quoted me over the phone was $26,700, which is actually lower than I had anticipated. 4 week turn around.
That seems good. When I put a 6.1 Hemi in my JK it was close to 30K, and that was in 2009, but it did include a new trans.

As stated before, I want to retain the ABS and braking system characteristics with mode switching. I also do appreciate the stability control differences.

Traction control and stability control are super expensive in the aftermarket. Not a useful spend for me.

And once you yank the stock booster/master setup, you have to contend with ABS not working properly and all sorts of other problems that arent an improvement.

I dont need a motec ecu for all of the things that it can do on a race vehicle.

My raptor is my trail truck. it is for fun. at most serious, it can be used for prerunning or as "fast chase".

None of those roles require a bazillion horsepower and no one is timing me. Doubling the power output to the wheels would be just fine. and yes, their warranty wsould apply to my truck if I did it.

I would rather find out who to buy the supporting parts from to make the modes work. I'd ideally prefer to have a motor built (I prefer NA, but would want to give it a bit more balls) and I'd prefer a manual valve body transmission.

True Dat! If your already going 25 to over 30k deep, do you still want a stock crate motor with a supercharger tossed on it? Considering your truck is very custom and purpose enhanced. NA in the long run may be less to worry about in the long run, especially if it will see a bit of hard use. But then again this setup comes with a nice warranty.

Now I'm interested... Might have to call them as well. Glad I checked back in on your build thread!

what is actually kinda crazy is, for an extra 10K, you can buy a brand new v8, 2wd f-150 that comes with the motor. i wish I could just buy the necessary motor swap parts, but my raptor motor in the new f-150, put the v8 in the raptor, then sell the f-150 for 20K.

brought the Donkey home to finish getting ready for Baja.

I'm not sure you would recoup your costs that much considering the effort involved (plus any tax liability you might have for purchasing and titling the new v8 truck), but it's an interesting thought. I'm actually not disappointed in the power of the V6 in mine, nor the sound really, but the shifting sucks a$$. My tunes are sloppy too, so I should probably update those and see if any improvements can be made. But there's something about a straight piped, no cat V8 that is hard to pass up!

As a side note, did you have to reinforce the fenders on your trailer to be able to drive over them?

The MPT tunes have a better shift strategy than anything else that I've tried. I use manual mode in the dirt now. I do need to find someone to work with to make the manual shifts quicker. I'd go to a manual valve body, but I don't want to put money into the trans until I decide what I'm doing with the motor.

The way that I look at it, the "little V6 that could" performs just fine for me, but for this level of performance, you're constantly wringing it out. If I " Build" the motor, that really doesn't change. I just have more exotic parts that I cant easily procure spare for.

With more displacement, I can get the same performance at 60-70% load on the motor. Logic would dictate that it will last longer being that it is under less stress and has more "buffer".

nope. its a drive over fender trailer. I do want to add a rub rail to it though. I didn't want a deckover because they raise the COG of the trailer by almost 2 feet when loaded.

I'm with you on wringing it out everytime. It'd be nice to have the power without feeling like you are pushing the motor to the limit everytime. Did the guys at Hyperfast mention whether they do any upgrades to the 5.0 and the trans to make them handle 700HP? Or do they just drop the Whipple on the stock motor and trans and crosss their fingers?

I have two deck overs and haven't ever had an issue with too high COG, but I wouldn't mind a drive over like you have. It'd be nice to be able to get things on my trailer besides just trucks with big tires and good approach angles!

I'll have to try MPT tunes. I love the power of my 5 star tunes, but the general driveability isn't great. Surges too much, and the shifting leaves a lot to be desired.

You ever going to paint those bedsides? Throw some white on those flares on your F250 while you are at it! J/K. Both good looking trucks.
