So I guess you could say it's getting pretty serious. This is one hell of a build.

You mentioned some significant power upgrades? You thinking of a 5.0 swap? There's at least 4 groups out there doing them now...

4 groups?

I have yet to see someone swap a coyote into an actual raptor. Everyone that I've seen takes an F-150 and does raptor things to it.

I have chatted about doing a very high strung ecoboost, and have also researched an Ls swap.

But, I've prioritized doing a cage and a one-piece front end right now. Safety first, and the one-piece will allow me to lower the ride height a little more.

Once those are complete and I've got the suspension tuned, Ill revisit the motor swap idea.

If you like the idea of a motor swap have you ever thought of upgrading your current engine and turbos just to stay away from the PCM, TCM, shaft and all the electronics involved ?

I have. I just want a v8 that sounds like robby gordon's motor. No real logical reason beyond I love the way that his truck sounds.

Got you! and good luck I know it wont be an easy job but you will be able to pull it off.

With that being said and done would you link your truck after the engine swap? as that will be the only thing left, hold on it might also be a 2wd center mount with 20+ travel and the list never ends.

Best of luck anyways whatever route you choose to build your truck your contribution and knowledge have helped many people including me on this forums keep the good work.

Yeah it's been done many times now, not sure why a Raptor forum wouldn't have heard about this. Pretty common knowledge.

Regardless, here is the latest group to crack the code:

All drive modes functional.

42K to swap a coyote in? They are out of their minds. The crate motor is 6200. The supercharger is 9500. The motor mount fab would be minimal. The transmission gets reused. I can think of maybe 18-19K at retail pricing in parts. $24K for the labor is a bit steep, unless the truck has to sit there for 2400 hours, which seems like quite a bit of time.

Who else besides hyperfast? Hennessey doesn't count because Id never see my truck again.

Heard of anyone LS swapping one?

That's the "retail" price. Like anything else, I'm sure it's negotiable.

LOL about Hennessey. Very true.

Call Walter at Aftermarket HQ in NV. I am pretty sure they have this figured out, too.

The Ecoboost has a different bolt pattern on the flywheel than any of the mod motors, btw. So you do need a donor trans.

Also, there should be ZERO motor mount fab since the 5.0 already comes in the F-150.

raptor frame is different.

I don't even want or need a 10 speed. manual valve body 5 or 6 speed trans will do what I want it to.

I'm gonna call them. I'm curious to know what they use for signal translation. If they are using all factory ford parts, that is pretty slick.
