I just hope there’s a option for a carbon fiber vinyl wrap over the real carbon fiber to protect the carbon fiber from the rock chips I pick up in mall parking lots. My carbon fiber wallet has a hole burning through it as we speak.

Also, look into wheels for the H2 or H2R. BSF won’t do it, their wheel won’t take the torque. Dymag wasn’t doing one last I looked.


I think you mean BST, but saying they won't take the torque is absurd. They can take plenty--they're even OEM on the new Ducati VA Superleggera (235hp). The H2/H2R are motorcycling footnotes.

I've had carbon fiber wheels from both BST and Dymag and never any issues.

You’re correct, BST, and to top it off, Brocks now has them listed

so they’ve gotten past whatever was the issue before and the last time I looked was before I got the Rap; that was 2017. I have the BST on my 10R, and love them.

The superleggera I’m sure is nice and light, unlike the H2 but yeah the H2(R) may be footnotes, but they’re fast footnotes.

I think you guys are kinda getting off the rails on this. ( i do it too, so no ill will intended.)

I make no challenges to the thought that certain things like swingarms and wheels and such for street/track motorcycles and cars are fantastical.

What I am saying is that the environmental conditions for a desert truck are wildly different.

My point is that a CF frame and even "arms" of any kind won't hold up to the impact damage that is inherent in desert racing and even playing in the desert.

One nice rock hidden under a whoop, or coming down on a rock through a canyon section and that Arm, frame, or whatever has a stress crack. Now that part is compromised and when it fails, it will be catastrophic.

Now, mason and others are using CF panels, CF seats, even in some cases CF radiator supports, intakes, piping, etc.

But they are still using steel and aluminum for the structural parts. There is a reason for this.

Hello again. I appreciate all your responses, even the negative ones. My partner and I have the capability to make parts large and small in carbon fiber, so I have been researching possibilities. Be advised there are several grades of carbon fiber product, to be used according to stress, shock and finish level application parameters. So far the truck frame idea has gotten a lukewarm reception here and elsewhere, but we do have traction in a very different automobile related area. We will focus on that project. However, as much CAD work has already been done on a Raptor CF frame, if we decide to produce some frames, maybe 20-50 frames for high-end racer customers, I will return here with details of that plan.
