I have a 2014 Raptor and last year had a Whipple supercharger professionally installed. 6 months later I started having transmission shifting issues, the truck wouldn't shift out of 3ed gear. I would have to shut off the truck and restart, then it would work. Then it started erratically shifting gears. I had to return the truck to the stock program and reinstall the Whipple programing and that fixed the issue. then 6 months later it did it again, but reinstalling the program wouldn't work anymore. I tried to contact Whipple for some costumer support and they would NOT even respond to me!! No matter if the issue was their programing or not, they should have at least talked or emailed me but they did NOT. So if your thinking about a Whipple brand supercharger, I would recommend buying a different brand cause you will be on your own after you give them your money! By the way, I drive like a grandpa cause I am 52 years old and I AM a grandpa... So I know I did not damage the transmission.

@James Klassen

I highly doubt that it's a Tune issue,

it's sounds more like a Lead Frame issue and/or the bulk head connection in and on the transmission.
and/or input and/or output speed sensor error in the transmission.
and/or wheel speed sensor...etc.

Check the wire harness from the PCM to the tranny.
How's the battery?
Low voltage can do strange things on our Raptors.

Whipple has never had bad support,
but they are sometimes a bit slow to respond to your email, I've heard that before.

Are you still trying to call them because I'm sure they would want a data log with the issue recorded, otherwise how can they help you.

And another thing,
coming on this forum talking trash about a company because you think you know what's wrong with your truck and then want that company to fix your issue without any data logging, real facts or proof to what is wrong, is just that, WRONG!!!
Did the wrench light come on?
Do you have any error codes to share with us?

Been on this forum for almost a year, and very seldom hear bad things about Whipple SC...sure sounds like another issue to me,but I'm no expert...so all I can say is my 2014 is pushing 60K....I am also Grandpa (62) but drive it like I stole it or a Kid in his first vehicle LOL...and never had an issue...

MTF, I did not Accuse Whipple of a bad product, I simply ask them for help figuring out the problem because this issue happened shortly after the supercharger install. The program adjusts shift points in the transmission and that seems to be where the problem is. What I am saying is they did not respond to me at ALL! I waited 3 months with multiple attempts to contact them. No call or even e-mail, and that is WRONG!!! It could be a different issue and not their program, but for all I know they could be aware of a programing issue and put out a updated version. If they were confident it wasn't them, just contact me and let me that! After spending $12.000 on their product(counting install) I at least deserve a response. AND ANOTHER THING. How can I send them a data log if I can't even contact them? AND I didn't ask them to fix it! I simply wanted to see if by chance it could be in their programing, if not, then fine.

When you call them ask for Jeff, he is the guy in charge of Tuning.
Three months, your doing something wrong.

Again, your description of the issue with the tranny not shifting and erratic shifting is transmission issue.

There are quite a few threads about this happening, all of them had a problem with the items I listed earlier.

I'll help you the best I can, call Jeff at Whipple let me know if you still don't get anywhere.
Forget about emails

Why don’t you contact the so-called professional shop that did the install instead of spouting off about Whipple first? They really should be the one helping you and be the shop contacting Whipple.

Maybe that shop loaded an old tune or wrong one. I don’t have a supercharger but I believe 3rd gear is a fail-safe gear because it happened to me when I was off-roading. It stayed in 3rd and would not shift out regardless what the shifter was doing. Just like @MTF suggested on checking things, my problem was the wire harness to the transmission. It came off the rear firewall hanger and got too hot.

@James Klassen stated that the truck was running fine for six months before it started happening.
Then again another six months it starting happen again but this time he can not fix it.

A Tune, be it NA or SC, doesn't all of a sudden change.

The first step is to take the SCT X4 and run diagnostics and write down any codes
https://derivesystems.helpjuice.com...-clearing-vehicle-check-engine-light-using-x4

Once you do that then make sure you run the SCT updater software, on a good working PC!
Note: you will need to return the truck back to stock before using the SCT updater.
https://derivesystems.helpjuice.com/sct-software/346005-downloads

Now that you have updated the SCT device, load the Whipple Tune back onto the truck.
Then you should to do a battery disconnect for about 10 to 20 minutes.
Doing a battery disconnect will insure that all the KAM settings have reset.

Here's a good thread to read and there are more:

Just because you didn't want to wait the two weeks like I suggested to you,
doesn't give you the right on saying anything about Whipple or their Tune.

Bashing a company because of your behavior and how you handle it is your problem.

The Whipple Tune is not a canned Tune, it's a Tune like all the others.
You give them your mods and they compile a Tune for your mods.

Like said above tunes don't just "go bad" or fall out of the PCM. Whipple makes tunes they are sure will keep the vehicles safe, they have to compromise on max power and aggression in the interest of longevity and the average persons needs.

Expecting an aftermarket company to help diagnose a problem VIA EMAIL that's most likely nothing to do with their product is totally unreasonable, it would be the same as blaming a shock failure on the new tires you bought then getting pissed off at the tire company because they didn't respond to an email. How many emails do you think a company like Whipple gets in a day? Human error says one or two are going to get missed or lost in the process.

Slandering them because you couldn't be bothered to try a different avenue of communication reflects badly on YOU, not them.
