Love my 2018 Tuxedo SCAB. Best truck I've ever owned.

1 - Wondering about the dash and radio brightness settings. I like to have the dash on it's lowest setting for night time driving. If I set it to it's lowest setting, the dash seems to remember the setting upon startup, but the radio display seems 3-4 ticks brighter. if I increase the brightness the radio display dims to match the dash. I then tick the brightness down and the dash and radio get dimmer together and match. Same thing again the next morning on startup. I have the headlight switch on auto if that matters.

2 - Sometimes when I walk up to my locked truck and squeeze the handle it won't unlock. I can see the lock pin wiggle like it's trying to unlock, but it doesn't. I can stand there and keep trying and sometimes it will eventually unlock after 2-5 handle squeezes, other times I just reach in my pocket and do it from the key fob. Never had it not unlock from the FOB. Same thing when locking it. Sometimes when I get out and press the door handle button, the lock pin just wiggles, but doesn't go down. Repeated presses have the same effect, sometimes it locks, other times I have to use the FOB.

I can only confirm that your problem #2 happens to me whenever it's wet/damp outside. It has gotten progressively worse since the frozen door latch TSB was completed last winter. I take it to the stealership on Monday. I will post what/if there is a fix.

Hmmm. Now that you mention it, wet/damp conditions is when it usually happens. It's near freezing here, but wet and it didn't work this morning.

Your doing #2 wrong: slide your hand behind the Handel and it will unlock, touch the black sensor and it will lock. If you just grab it it will do both/none.

1A: this is a known sync bug through at least sync version 3.1. I don’t know at what version they fixed it, but, I did the upgrade to 3.4 via USB and no longer have this issue. I observed this as the center display would sometimes launch at full brightness at night / dark, while gauges were honoring the dim setting. + or - the dimmer switch and the center display corrects. some ways I could start the truck and it would immediately dim correctly, others not. 3.4 fixed this for me.

2A: as others have opined, the sensor is detecting motion in the handle. you need to give it a brief second to respond mechanically to allow the door to unlock, then pull the handle if you’re not doing that already. it’s not foolproof. if the sensor is dirty or obstructed it won’t function correctly. it can behave a little weird when wet, I can set mine off with a hose while washing the truck.

On mine (driver's door specifically), If it's wet/damp outside I can push the black actuator button until I'm blue in the face and the door will not lock. I have to use the FOB during these times. As soon as everything dries out then it works great again. What is interesting is this was never like this until I had the frozen latch repair done last year. Unlock had never been an issue the past 3-years until this past week which leads me back to the dealership.

The passengar side works flawlessly.

There are two brightness adjustments, that actually work together.

Fist, go into the sync settings for the screen, and adjust the brightness. There is an auto adjustment for night and day. Set it to how you want it there.

Then use the switch to the left of the steering wheel to adjust the dash lights. That will also impact how bright the screen is.

I too keep mine a dim as possible.

No 2 issue was even reported by car and driver long term test 2017. Ford said there nothing wrong with it, it's the operator. Mine does it all the time, got a pulled it 10 times to work.

#2 - I also had this problem until I learned how to do it. I was grabbing the handle & pulling it. Once I learned to touch the inside to unlock then pull handle & just push the lock button with a finger it has worked great for me in any conditions. Sounds like maybe some others have a legit wet conditions issue, but for me it was user error.
