So it's time to replace my tires. I always said when the time came I would consider buying, upsizing wheels. Christmas was expensive this year, I don't have a bunch of cash on hand but I have a good chunk of credit at Discount Tire. My truck is on road only. I would like larger wheels,20 inch max. Anyone able to recommend brands, styles, tires they offer?

I dunno not really fond of 20”s on off-road truck but I guess if you lift/level a bit & run 37”s it wouldn’t be so bad as you’d gain back some sidewall height w/ that tire size.

this new forum Vendor Velgen seems to offer an array of 20” options, people like Icons & methods....whatever you do I would pay close attention to weight first & foremost - both tire & wheel - & then after identifying your lowest weight options narrowing down from there b/c adding more unsprung weight to an already heavy stock setup is going to be a drag on acceleration/braking/MPG performance- noticeably. I know there are a handful of 37” tire options out there that keep the weight close to stock, not sure on 20” wheels tho cuz not into them but I’m sure there are light weight options there too

If you upgrade wheels and tires by diameters and they weigh a lot more, you really need to upgrade your brakes.

I also wouldn’t put tires on a credit card and make payments to it. The cost of the tires would increase dramatically with the interest. Wheels are debatable but I would put finance tires.

Ok. Thanks.

I have a good gouge on the sidewall that's making me rush to decide. I or the wife must've hit something, wires showing. Even though this truck never leaves the pavement and probably never will I love the way it handles. I would hate to lose any of that. For me, the stock wheel rim combo looks smallish. I got till Monday to decide whether just replace all four BFGs or new rims and tires all around. I cant miss any work so it's gotta happen .

Since you “love the way it handles” why are you wanting to change the way it handles? You change wheel & tire size you change handling! Put your new tires on, pay cash cause you didn’t buy wheels and continue to enjoy your ride. Just saying.

Thanks for the opinions. But I was hoping I could have the best of both worlds. A ride that I'm happy with and a look that I'm happy with.

Check out the 18” Velgen options. They might help you decide. They are some good looking wheels.

A friend of mine has a 19 Raptor with 20s and 37s. Never drives off-road. My 17 on stock wheels and tires rides much better. I even think my old F350 rode better.

You could always call your local Malls and see what they recommend...I read somewhere that some people buy a dual wheeled F-450...but don't actually tow anything....wonder why that is?....

Ha...ha...just razing you a bit...:)
