I would not be happy living with that noise every day.

If I had a Gen 2, I'd go for the quietest exhaust possible (stock) and use a VTA BOV setup. At least the turbos sound like turbos should sound.

Watching the Gen II guys constantly chase after $1000+ exhaust systems to make the V6 sound good really kills the Gen II guys arguments that the exhaust sound means nothing to an truck owner and it's silly to consider such a thing when deciding what to buy.

The Gen2 Raptor is the first truck I have ever owned that did not have a V8. I am not a loud exhaust kind of guy and the only truck I every changed the exhaust on was a 1997 F150 RCSB 4x4. I put a pair of Walker Dynomax Super Turbos under it and made it a true dual exhaust with lightning style tailpipes exiting in front of the passenger side wheel. It was quiet for the most part but, had a very nice V8 sound at higher RPM. A V8 just naturally sounds good though. The V6 sound is OK if the raspy braaap is muffled well. But, I personally don't think the sound of a loud V6 engine matches the persona of the Raptor. Stock, the sound is tolerable and unobstrusive. But, the V6 engine note is not the kind of sound you want to amplify IMO.

This debate will go on for years.

I literally only bought a raptor because of these videos:

I have it and I'm happy. But I also drive an R8 with titanium 3 inch exhaust and a screaming v10.......

Im biased.

I have listened to just about every Gen2 Raptor exhaust combination available. Hours of
recordings. Wanting to like it. But, they all sound like a V6....only more so. I would
absolutely hate driving around in the 1-2K RPM range constantly hearing that purring V6
(as opposed to a rumbling V8) sound incessantly reminding me I have a V6. Listen to the
audio closely; pay attention to the low RPM purring sound. That is what you will be hearing
most of the time. Sorry. But no thanks.
