Who the hell told you this????

The Raptors stance is the same from 2008 to 2020
It still remains the same "The Raptor is 7" wider than a standard F150"....
If I’m not mistaken the gen1 was slightly wider than gen2

My experience:

- scary first time it happens, since sudden, violent and unexpected.

- traction control kicks in and corrects, retards There have been cases on rainy days where truck has been completely sideways and hefty counter steering has been needed to avoid going off the road or hit car in next lane.

- happens while driving at normal speed and even going quite slow, if road is washboard type and/or with potholes.

- Our company Ford Rangers or Toyota HiLux pickups I drive from time to time does not do this at all on very same road and place.

- reducing air in front and rear tires help, but does not fix the problem, just makes it a bit less scary.

- when driving on non tarmac road with same conditions, it does not do this and shows its true offroad capability.

- I have tried to add weight at the back, lots of it (sand bags and rear bed divider to keep it in place). Actually not a big difference. Still jolts sideways and retardation kicks in (loss of power).

- driving on this road every day, so it's easy to compare what works or not and only thing that removes the problem is going a lot slower, which also not good, but OK since 3 lanes

- when it happens, the truck can easily slide over half way into the next lane, so having a car next to you is not a good idea.

I hope Ford can come up with a solution to this, since uncomfortable for passengers and embarrassing for driver, as well as a bit dangerous from time to time.

First time mine stepped out was on a 270 deg freeway on ramp...got my attention...learned to just let it drift a little and it will come back...but of course doesn't make it right. The trucks mannerisms are tied to what engineers thought would be the "best" compromise between on and off road..BUT this is the one area that had to be designed by the bean counters as no off road engineer worth his/her salt would approve of 2" lift blocks after a test drive off road in 2wd...
Can't say what to do if you are mall crawling only because the guys using this truck off road know the rear spring pak and blocks have to go...

What would you guys say the best remedy for this is? Deavers or icons I suppose. Any need to address the front springs as well? Have my truck on order build date of 1/27 I’m trying to come up with some ideas now and maybe buy some of the parts before the truck gets here. I was thinking of deavers +3 with drop shackles and a KHC torque arm and pretty much leave it stock for awhile after that.

Keep in mind the rear spring replacement is different from using some sort of axle torque arm...
I would replace the rear spring before a traction device...First this gets rid of Ford mistake - the rear 2" blocks, and second the Deaver/ICON paks are going to improve ride and off road manors..
The pak replacement will also eliminate about 85-90% of axle wrap...And both manufactures have options to tailor your spring pak closer to your needs..

Ok thanks. And what’s your opinion on the front shocks any reason to do those?

The Geiser springs Gain some height getting the truck close to level, they are also progressive. This is my truck with 37s, +3 deaver, and Geiser front springs.

Lower your air pressure in the tires. It works.

Looks awesome how’s it ride? Would you say way better than stock?
Yes, MUCH better In every way!!I also have McNeil 2+2 fenders so I don’t rip the fenders off when I get airborne.
