The problem is not idle, some of the aftermarket exhausts sound great idling with some turbo sound & a deep tone... but literally every single one can’t get away from the ricer WAHHHH on acceleration. It sucks. A Corsa Sport exhaust with catted downpipes sounds perfect idling... only if it could stay quiet on acceleration. Currently I’m stock with SPD catted downpipes & it’s pretty stock sounding with a slightly deeper tone.. not bad, but wanting more turbo sound without the WAHHHH. [emoji58]

Completely agree.

Watching the Gen II guys constantly chase after $1000+ exhaust systems to make the V6 sound good really kills the Gen II guys arguments that the exhaust sound means nothing to an truck owner and it's silly to consider such a thing when deciding what to buy.

I love the fact that most Gen 1 guys think all Gen 2 guys hate the sound of their truck. I own a gen 2 and like the sound of it. I would've bought the 3.5 over a 5.0 offering.

I’ve owned both and I hate the sound of the Gen 2.

I never said Gen II owners hate the sound of the exhaust. You are projecting your thoughts onto my posts apparently.

I said it's amazing how the Gen II owner argument has been "it's doesn't matter, it doesn't matter, (fingers in ears) LALALALALALALA" then turn around and continually chase $1000 exhaust systems that'll finally make it "sound good".

They sound bad under load, no matter what exhaust is on them. There's a few GEN II trucks around me with loud exhausts and they all sound like hot garbage. Not sure what's worse, those trucks or the 2.3L EB Mustang on the corner with a loud fart pipe exhaust. Now that I think about it, it's the Mustang, it sounds worse.

Cold starts, idling, yeah- they sound OK. We have two EB V6s, they both sound good at startup too. Nice burple and a little rasp when it first lights off.

I can admit, mine is a lil wild when I really get on it. 1 click away from obnoxious but I do like it at WOT. It sounds crazy when I go through wooded areas with the windows down.

I never said you did. That was only your vain assumption. Read again.

Some may. I'm content.

Your opinion. We fully understand you loathe the gen 2 sound. Great.
