IKA, never pulling out is solid advice. But, I have wanted to use it a few times when having a large amount of gear in the back. Then not having a handle to grab isn't much more than inconvenient rather than I need a step.

Melvimbe, it won't, in so many words, but with the tailgate wars going on between manufacturers I figured it would be a unique mod and allow me to use the bumper, rather than an additional step.
[emoji23][emoji23] that’s what I’m here for is to provide some solid advice.

You might be able to swap with someone who doesn't need/use theirs. I seem to remember forum members who were also interested in swapping tailgates to either get the tailgate applique or to get one without it.

The tailgate is nearly always ****** on everything in the junkyard, and they are always in super high demand. Finding a color matched, non-damaged, step equipped, 2015+ gate is gonna cost big money. $1500 minimum. It'll be cheaper than new from Ford, but not by a huge amount once you factor in fixing any damage/dents.

It's a friggin step,I don't see why they are treated as gold plated but I do see the irony. There was a point where people were stealing tailgates, what was that all about?

Hey, I've had a tailgate with a step for sale for months. It has a tiny dent in it that would cost about $50 to fix from a pdr shop.

I posted it for $750 cash and carry. It is still sitting in my garage.
