Hey Guys,

New to the forum here!

Having some issues with these headlights after install. We have tested everything and then reached out to morimoto and they have no clue what is going on.

The DRL work about 5%-10% of the time. When they are not working, none of the lights in the front end do not work, the LED grille lights nothing will come on.

Have any of you all seen this before? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Stock is LED I believe. Are the DRLs simple (turned on by applying 12V from vehicle)? Or is there communications over LIN/CAN bus to a controller in the headlights for the DRLs?

I'm also having an issue, my truck is a 2018 f150 raptor, the lights (
Morimoto XB LED Plug & Play Headlight Assemblies For 2015-2017 Ford F-150 2018+ with updated harness),
the lights seem to work fine with two exceptions. a, the parking lights don't always come on, its intermediate. Also I have check engine lights(s) after installing the lights, Right & Left front turn lamp feedback, (B1498 B1497), Lefthand and Righthand high beam circuit, (81D02 81D02), Lefthand and Righthand Low beam circuit (B1D00 B1D01), Left and Right front turn indicator (B123A B123B), Front Park Lamps Output B1446. I have a code reader and have cleared the codes several times but they come back. I agree that Morimoto dont have a clue.

Update! bypass the resisters (see pic) that come connected from morimoto factory. They are for f150(s) without factory LED. Once I bypassed these the lights started working perfectly however I still have the error codes> I believe the scanner I have is not actually clearing the codes so I ordered purchased FORscan and an adaptor we will see if I can permanently next week when it gets here.

OP did you ever get this sorted?

@acllowe Yep that's the fix for most of the issues, I had those lights in and out 3 times before I figured out I didn't need those black boxes and removed them. suddenly lights work just fine. Although there is no dimming of the DRLs, those jokers are on bright all the time.

I wish that had been clearer in the install guide.
