Line-X is more durable, but for anything other than a work truck, the factory liner is plenty durable.

The Ford liner is sprayed in by a robotic arm, so it is lighter, neater, and more uniform.

The biggest risk to Line-X is it is only as good as the person installing it.

Well my 450 HP Raptor I use it to haul my ass only, work to home and home to work (my wife says I have no ass) :(, but I know here and there I will use the bed to carry some stuff and has no bedliner, based on this thread I'm still confused, should I go with the Line X or go to a Ford dealer and get it installed?

Thanks for your advice

Given a choice, you shouldn't go to a Ford dealership for anything after you buy the truck. Warranty is another story. Give your money to a quality local bedliner guy, cut out the middle man.

Thanks for all the responses.
I had the factory spray in liner on my 2017 and I went aftermarket for my 2019. It actually cost me less to go aftermarket, it is thicker, and they covered 100% of the tailgate and the gap between the tailgate and the bed. The factory spray in bed liner leaves an area exposed on the tailgate and in the gap that can get scratched if you slide things across it.

I had factory installed on my Raptor and aftermarket installed on my previous truck a Tundra. If I was ordering another truck it would be from the factory. The aftermarket was fine but they sprayed the bed light wires, and while they still worked I am guessing any issues that might arise from the lights, a warranty claim would likely be denied because of the spray. Also if your concern is thickness, just do what others have suggested throw in a bed mat. I also have a tonneau cover on mine so fading shouldn't be an issue.

I have only had one factory spray-in liner and that was in my 2015 Platinum. What I didn't like about it is that it let a ton of dust, water, and little rocks into the bed. I have a tonneau cover so the dust was quite a bit. What I really like about the LineX etc is that they seal the back of the truck and all the little crevices that the factory bed liner does not do. I also think it makes the road noise quite a bit less with LineX, Just my $0.02.

The factory bedliner isn’t a dealer installed item. If you take it to your dealer, they’ll just outsource it to a local company. If your truck wasn’t factory sprayed, then Line X is fine. My brother had Line X in his new Ram and it looks great and is guaranteed for life.
