Just picked up a 2010 6.2 SCAB in Molten Orange (1 owner, 65k miles, all dealer service records) and have a few comments, photos, and questions.

The smoked LED tail lights had already been done. I have the originals too. I just changed to the Spyder DRL headlights last night. First impressions are that they fit very easily--20 minutes and that was without a cordless driver, and look very nice. The cutoffs seem sharp (good), but on low beam they seem slightly less effective than stock, which I kind of expected. High beams seemed to throw a lot more light, but this first test was all done in a 2 minute drive when it was drizzling last night and not extremely dark due to living in Chicago. I had also ordered PIAA bulbs, but they won't be here for a few more days. We'll see how much of an improvement that makes. I do have white and amber LED aux/flood lights.

The truck cam with a Leer tonneau and carpeting, but I'll be looking to replace those with an open spray-on bedliner in the Spring, as I'll mostly haul my motorcycles (either in the bed or a 6x10 enclosed trailer. By the way, if anyone has a super-clean orange tailgate with the step and wants to sell or trade for a pristine non-step plus cash, that would be a help.

Questions

I don't plan to do an exhaust or CAI any time soon, but if there are benefits to be had, I'd like a tune for 1) better efficiency (if possible), 2) better power, and 3) improved drivability. I also don't want to disrupt other truck functions. Recommendations for my specific requirements and ballpark cost?

As a fallback to the tune, I've heard good things about the Pedal Commander, but also conflicting information on whether it can be used with the 2010. The unit seems to be officially listed for 2011+, but this is the 6.2 and I've ready that the wiring may be 2011 spec. Can anyone give me a definitive answer?

Possibly related to the "2010 electronics issue" is the subject of keys, remote locks, and remote starter. (factory Ford). It's kind of a nuisance to have a key plus two other fobs.

I'd like to consolidate them in a single key like this if possible: https://www.keyless-remotes.com/rem...8j9M7bfMkLSsrnwSB6QqUMV3-g_yQIVIaAsutEALw_wcB

Finally, and lowest on the priority list, is graphics. I think I'd like a matte black hood panel and simple matte black graphics (not "splash") on the rear quarters. I'm also considering clear 3M material on the front edge of the hood to prevent rock chips.

Truck looks great.

For me, I'm not a fan of spray in bed liners. They devalue the worth of the truck. Between the two, I'd stick with the carpet since you have the cover.

I wouldn't mind a retractable tonneau, but I want to be able to put a motorcycle in the back sometimes.

A Buell Blast barely fits in the bed, anything bigger than that just isn’t going to fit

Nice truck! Love that orange color!

I have a 2014 and did a Magnaflow exhaust and a Roush intake. Estimated bumps are 50hp, with noticeable more of a Nascar roar under full throttle. MPG, well who really cares, right? I have always seen no better than 12mpg.

Am getting pedal commander next, but this thing has plenty of snap as is.

I have the newer remote so can't comment on the consolidation question.

Happy Raptoring!

How does an upgrade option on the buying end and the resale/trade-in end devalue the worth of the truck? I get that you don't like them, but what?

It's not an upgrade, it's just a change in finish. Once on, it can hardly be removed. As a result, there would be fewer interested buyers for a truck that had it. Also, when it's in a bed, it sends up a potential red flag that it might be hiding something negative, ie rust, significant damage, etc.

LOL I don't even know what to say to that logic that they devalue a truck. mine has it as a factory option with a Ford badge.. so did Ford devalue my truck from factory? I call BS on that..

Interesting that it was a factory option. I could see a dealer option, but not factory. Let's see the original window sticker.

It's nonsense to say Ford would devalue your truck from the factory. I call BS on that..
