What is the name of that company that does the fox shock core exchange?

How did you know that your factory fox shocks were toast? I fear mine are too at 56k miles. The front of my truck sits about 1.25 inches lower at the front wheel well than a new all stock Raptor....and about an inch lower at the rear.

Ford and Fox recommend a shock rebuild at 50k for street queens that never see dirt. Those who go off-road may need them sooner. With my OEM 2.5 shocks the fluid was black and well used at 41k.

Forged Offroad just rebuilt my 3.0 shocks with 43k on them and again the fluid was well used and the service put new life back in to the shocks :)

Well, I aired up my tires and it feels good!

Thats my bad. Guess the old girls will make it a few more miles!

55k on them and I do live on a bumpy dirt road and travel other dirt roads at speed a few times a week, also not afraid to send it every now and then!

Curious if you find someplace in new england to do a rebuild as I'm in MA - I DO know Offroad Alliance has an affiliate in Brockton, MA I've met the owner....not sure if they do the rebuilds there or just facilitate a core swap & send out, but worth giving them a shout.

My '18 only has 16k on it so I'm not close to needing it done yet. I think I'm going to add geyser springs though which may prolong the life? Maybe not

Side note - anyone know if its possible or makes sens to just have a suspension shop add a leaf or 2 to the stock rear springs to get the same effect of a little additional height & firmness instead of spending $1200 on a set of deavers or icons?

I found a place near me in Maine that said they can do it. I knew they did snowmobile fox shocks, and they said pretty much any shocks arent a problem. Im sure there are places closer to you in MA.

Taking the shipping cost out of the equation would help.

At this point, buying low mileage take offs costs about the same as getting a set shipped out to get rebuilt...

I’d rather have piece of mind they’ve been rebuilt vs gambling on eBay shocks w/ who knows how much true mileage or abuse they’ve seen personally @ the tune of $1200-1600 for a set

Course if ya want the “real” fox shocks 3.0s running like $5-6k right?

I think the stock suspension setup (aside from that axle wrap in the rear) is excellent for the kind of off-road driving I do which is mainly rutted gravel roads, logging roads up your way, open grass fields, & occasional beach sand venture- I reminded myself how good it is driving down a 4 mile stretch of completely torn up road near me that was already bad before the asphalt was ripped up now it’s just straight dirt/gravel/potholes some 8-10” deep & but muddy too- in my wife’s MDX I have to go 10-15 tops or I feel like I’m just destroying it, in my vette it’s obviously impassable, but I was in my buddy’s Chevy 4x4 that had bilstein 5100s on it - def improvement over their stock stuff & same shocks I had on my GMC- & his truck started to feel like it was crying “uncle” @ 25-30 tops- my Raptor? Went down the same stretch @ 45-50 & it felt like it wasn’t breaking a sweat.

Can’t imagine what it’s like w/ geysers/deavers & 37”s let alone if you swapped out for 3.0a

I used Forged off-road for an exchange but they have not refunded my core after 40 days from when they got my shocks and multiple attempts. Now they won’t even return emails. The shocks I got from them seem ok but I’d steer clear of them. They owe me $600.

Texas shock works did the rebuild on my gen 1 about a year ago and I haven’t nothing but good things to say about them. Top notch guys there and truck rides and drives like a brand new one!
