The owner of that thread I posted had a custom cam ground but your limited with the stock crank so they made a custom crank to allow higher lift for the cam.
He's put over $150,000 in to that engine alone with one offs.
I wish the speed shop that designed his engine would have the parts available to all.
But I understand that it's not feasible given the amount of Raptor owners that would spend that kind of money.

150k.. top fuel engines don’t cost that much.

It had H beams and the deck isn’t even surfaced. Looks like a decent build but I’m not seeing much extra.

One offs made it that high, and he kept the Whipple so compression was still 9.5, so no decking.
What he got was very high lift with longer duration cam.
Plus if your having some build it for you, the R & D and labor goes though the roof. LOL
If your doing all the work your self then you save tens of thousands of dollars.

They designed and built his engine,
they also designed the billet oil pump gears in conjunction with Triangle Speed Shop for the Mustangs and Raptors.
Very well know shop in the NHRA Ford racing community. Expensive!!!

You’re missing my point, the deck isn’t solely for compression numbers, the factory doesn’t machine any blocks to a performance spec, therefor the decks needs trued up in relation to the main bore center lines. It’s the same concept for the cylinder walls. The cylinder walls and deck surfaces can be off the centerline by over .020” which in some cases could cause unnecessary side loading of the piston skirts. There’s so much to think about when building a engine for big power especially under extreme boost pressures.

So it goes to say it was built right.

Not saying it’s good or bad. I don’t follow the build, I’m saying I can create the same results for MUCH less than 150k. That number is either a lie or someone got screwed.

This is what I remember, this was 5 years ago I don't have the text messages any more,
it could have the tranny and rear-end included which really couldn't add that much more.
He has money to burn that's for sure.

I will be subscribing to your build, one day I would like to go really big in power when I retire in 3 1/2 years.
At least by that time I might see someone make the 10 speed tranny work on a Gen 1

The Ceiling of the 6.2 head castings N/A is somewhere around of 800 at the flywheel.
Look up Don Bowles S197. His castings were altered at the factory, but there are 2 spots that can be welded on the roof of the entrance on normal 6.2 castings and ported out further to match his heads.
There was a shop in Ohio I believe that swapped an N/A built 6.2 in an S197 with around 700 at the tire as well.
Pauls high performance was running 11's in an automatic s197 with a stock manifold and headers.

Curious about the details. Was your donor a boosted 6.2?
On the build will you use Stock Crank, H-beams, forged pistons??
I'm going to need a long block at some point, I've been under boost for 108,000 miles so far and plan to keep this truck.
