That's Linkswell. There have been a few people try that on here and I don't think it was too highly recommended. Personally, I don't like the look of this. I don't want to lose the hard AC controls, in addition to radio controls. The OS interface looks basically black and white.

That said, I can't really recommend Phoenix to anyone either, without the caveat that it will be buggy, and you're going to have to learn to live with that. I like mine for the most part, but there certainly are some bugs that are rather annoying. I haven't really wanted to go through the effort of trying to troubleshoot this yet.

I would recommend holding off if you can. As you stated, they are working to fix bugs and there may come a point where it's stable enough. I also wondering if there is going to be a better designed and tested unit coming out by a traditional car audio maker in the next year or two.

Thank you... the last bit hit the nail on the head. I was going to hold out for another year in hopes of most of the bugs being fixed with this, or better options coming to market.

I was able to fix the above problem, but uninstalling the TXZ Speech programming that came preinstalled. I can now open Google Assistance with "Hey Google" and use the Alexa widget.

Really? I assume 'but' is a 'by' typo. I'm definitely going to have to try this as Alexa voice control is definitely something I want to use. What widget are you refering to? I was only going to use the Amazon music app.

Is that Android Auto? Carplay? That doesn't look like any of the screens I've seen. I have no use for that TXZ app and can't image I ever will, so I'll remove it anyway.

That's Nova Launcher, I'm using it instead of the default launcher. I haven't tested AA or CarPlay since I uninstalled TXZ, can't tell you if it affects those.

I'm guessing that's not an app. How is that acquired/installed, or can you point me in the right direction?

edit: nevermind. I quick google shows that it is an app afterall. Will do some research on this.

Nice video Gtibbot.

I just wanted to add that under the SETTINGS menu, there's a menu choice on the left side called APP CUSTOMIZE. That allows you to select 1 of your apps to put on the top menu. In the video, I noticed that you currently don't have anything selected, so your top menu icon only says "customize", but once you select an app it will say the app name.

Every Android device will have a Launcher, different manufacturers will use different launchers that work on top of Android OS. Google made Phones use "Google Now" launcher, Samsung uses "One UI Home", etc. Most Android devices allow you to load any launcher of your choice, by downloading from the Play Store and installing.

The Launcher preinstalled with the unit is named "Index" and looks like:

Nova Launcher is one of the 3rd party launchers that can be found on the play store.

Link will direct you to Play Store download. Once installed you will need to setup Nova laucher, basically drag apps, widgets from your app drawer to you home screen. The are tons of YouTube videos on customizing Nova.

My unit boots right to the Nova launcher screen and I can almost get away without having to see the SYNC 2 screen at all.

Hope this helps.

Great find. Thanks!
