what is "normal" coolant temp on a gen 2

I have the coolant temp enabled via forscan, 212 is pretty much where my truck sits with normal driving.

just curious as to what "normal" for this truck is, and what kind of temps does everyone see in the summer or under heavy loads.

Based on my observations, 205-215 degrees fahrenheit is a normal engine coolant reeding range depending up driving factors. The transmission appears to be happy around 180-185.

My coolant temps seem to range between 205-215...a little warmer then I'd like to see, but many others see the same temps...
Trans temps are also warmer then I'd like to see 190-195...

The Gen2 runs hotter than a Gen1 it appears. There shouldn't be an issue with that as long as there is enough cooling capacity to keep the everything cool when pushed hard.

With the Gen1 I am pretty consistent at 194° on the highway and rarely see anything over 214° in traffic without the A/C. With the A/C on in traffic it sits around 194°

Pushed hard off-road with high speeds and high RPM I see 225° a lot!

I'm curious to what the Gen2 does when both turbos are at full boil and the engine is being pushed hard. Anyone see/know what those temps are?

Out in the Mojave desert last summer with temps around 105+ and the truck ran about 215 all day and that's including a fair amount of just idling....and yes the AC was on the whole time...

Towing up the grapevine, I saw about 234 degrees. The trailer weight was around 7000lbs. Ambient temperature was around 80-90. I slowed the speeds down when I saw the temperature hit 230’s. Not sure what the norm is. I’d like to hear if anyone’s upgraded to the full race radiator and seen improvements in cooling over the stock radiator.

with a 170 thermostat i never see above 195. normal is 180 ish.

The larger rad won’t lower temps, just more capacity so temps should be more consistent. It will warm up just as fast no matter what thermostat you have - it just won't reach as high of a temp. In cool/colder weather my temps hover around the low 170's - you should expect that as well even in zero degree weather.
