Who lives in Texas

Hey, im a socal born and bred guy so I’ve never even been to Texas, but will be moving for my wife’s job in two months. Is there any pre runner/Baja style off-roading out near the DFW area other than mudding?

Growing up in Dallas and now living in Arizona, I can tell you that there's not going to be any similar - it's all plains around DFW.

You'll need to head south and west of Austin to Texas' hill country for anything remotely resembling the south west.

There is reportedly a dune-like off road ranch in Oklahoma, but haven't been there yet.

Living further south in south Houston we have the Galveston beach and Crystal beach then there is an offroad park (more ATV friendly) Xtreme off road in Crosby

texplex is fun ( DFW) but is like seeing a tiger in the zoo vs on a nature preserve in India.

they are places to go, but there isn't BLM land in tx like there is out west.

There are many Trails out in the Hill Country near the Guadalupe. Texas Country Reporter is a pretty cool way to get ideas for places to go.

I’m a Dallas Raptor guy as well, nothing legal around the area that I’ve found, but as others have mentioned hill country/south Texas has some good spots. Check out the Texas Raptor Run.

TexPlex is in the DFW area and has track days monthly. The Texas Raptor Run is in Blackwell every May and is a fun event too. 98% of Texas is privately owned so not as much opportunity as y’all have out west. Checkout Houston area Raptor owners on Facebook to find upcoming runs.

I live in Austin and the most I've seen around here is the prerunner day at TexPlex and rally ready (south of austin)
