I’ve been following the BJ thread on Laser lighting. I want them but have already dropped almost 2 grand on their stuff before it came out. I did see, unless I’m reading it wrong, that you can send in the 10” lower grill bar, which I have, to be upgraded? That’s a possibility for me.

So if you got em, post the damn pics at night, now, and your thoughts, now. Got it? Ty.

You can do a 10" Laser light in the Gen2 lower grille if you want. It's not like you can open up your existing 10" OnX6 light though and swap it out, it's just done by a BD dealer for you. It would be a custom kit you order. BD doesn't offer a lower 10" Laser kit for the Gen2 Raptors, but they do offer the lower 10" OnX6 kit as you know. So what us dealers do is we just swap out the OnX6 for you prior to shipping it.

We've done a few of them. It's not a VASTLY popular item because it's expensive and really for certain applications. Unless you are running races at night where you NEED to see that far ahead, most folks don't really need it. Unless ya know you just WANT It because it's cool as hell, that's a different story :)

If you're looking to do laser lighting shoot me a PM. I can help you out on pricing. There are a few guys on here I believe running the lasers they got from us, but it's not a REAL popular item as I said (real special case). But holy crap do the lasers look badass when you use them at night in some dusty conditions.

Our 10" Lower Kits are here with the optional Laser Upgrade: http://www.4x4truckleds.com/baja-designs-ford-raptor-2017-onx6-lower-grille-led-kit/

Like Adam said, expensive for what you’re getting. the laser is a necessarily tight beam with much less collateral throw, so your illumination is a very tight window, but very far out. If you have lights covering up close, mid range and long range, then the lasers could push visibility out farther but you probably don’t need all that unless you’re doing high speed night runs in the Rap.

I’m not sure the lower grille kit is high enough up to be of use anywhere but the street. IF I was going to consider the B/D laser lights and there were easy financing terms offered so as to avoid a 2nd mortgage, I might consider the hood mounted XL80’s

That's actually what we tell folks all the time. You can put it low if you want but you'd be better off with it up high, to shoot out over those bumps/hills and really illuminate down the road. XL80s with Spot lenses (custom order) is what i'd do. Not sure WHY Baja doesn't offer the XL80s with Spots. I know it's something to do with the optics and what not but i've had no issues with my XL spot lenses on my XL80s. Seems to work fine. So it's something we also offer. We'll swap out the lenses prior to shipping if you wanted spots.

Believe it or not the XL80's with spots work just as well as the 4 LP9s on my own demo truck. We have 4x LP9 Driving/Combos so they are not 100% spot, but the XL80 seems to blow past them.

Here is a little video we did:

That’s a pretty good video - so that’s 4x LP9 and 2x XL80’s (ADD hood mount?)

nice.

I’m guessing @MDJAK is an upstater.

from about Baltimore to mid joyzee it’s “you’s”, pronounced ‘yuze’.
- think “yuze from Balmer, hun?” Northward to about, what, NYC, it’s more of a soft ’s’ - like ‘use’
- like, ‘what are yous up to?’

then you go further north and it’s right back to ‘yuze’... Jayzuss.

Frankly, 99% of people don’t need lasers.

Think about it like this, the Racer Edition LED lights are already super spotty lights and designed for speeds of 100+mph at night. We have some people who run XL Racer LED lights on hood mounts, and they’re happy, but they’ve also got all of their other lighting zones dialed in.

If you haven’t ever felt like you’ve outrun your lights, you don’t need them.

However, if you want them, that’s a whole other story. I’d mount them as high as possible and would install XL Laser lights before I put a laser bar in the lower grille opening. The higher the light, the more useful it’ll be.

If you’re dead set on the 10” bar, I’d recommend the 10” OnX6 Hybrid LED/Laser bar over the full laser bar.

IF I was going to consider the B/D laser lights and there were easy financing terms offered so as to avoid a 2nd mortgage, I might consider the hood mounted XL80’s

We offer financing direct on our site ;)

Alternative Offroad mounts for my XL80s. They can fit up to an LP9 and allow the hood open (maybe bigger but who the hell has a light bigger then an LP9)
