Our 2019 seems to have an oil consumption problem.

Truck was towed to the dealer at 4500Km due to low oil pressure and truck went into Limp mode.

While at the dealer for two weeks, they replaced both valve covers, and added 3L of oil and sent us on our way.

Return 2 weeks later for a check up, tech says oil level is fine. Return to another ford dealer 2 weeks later for an oil change at 7000km, tech found the truck way down on oil (lowest dot on dip stick)

Is anybody else experiencing this issue? I understand some oil consumption with a boosted motor is expected. But this is definitely an excessive case.

Thanks!

Different dealers, who knows one guy says lowest mark is acceptable, other guy says lowest mark means 9 qts low, or whatever. Did you happen to check it yourself?

Yes before it went in for the check up I thought it looked low, almost at the bottom of the stick.

Unless I am missing something, it sounds like when you checked it, the level was the same as when you took it in for the oil change, later on?

I found mine very low on oil around 8k miles when new, I never checked it prior. I suspect it used some on break in or it was delivered to the dealership low on oil and nobody knew.

2 oil changes later and I haven't seen any usage between changes. Hoping for the best for ya.

No I thought it was lot before it went in for the check up. They said it was fine at the check up.

Fast forward 2 weeks to try and get the first oil change and they said it’s very low.

Sorry for the confusion.

We were getting the feeling that the dealer that did the original repair doesn’t want to deal with the problem anymore. As the dip stick defiantly did seem low when she took it in.

I've got an 18 and it's burned oil the whole time I've had it, and I did buy new.

At first it was about a quart every thousand miles, but since its worked its way down to 1/4-1/8qt per thousand miles. I've just been adding oil and it runs smooth and seems to be completely fine. Doesn't smoke, smell, drip or anything like that.

I chose this rather than getting the dealer involved. The reason for that is when I first noticed it they were just replacing whole engines, which didn't seem like a fix to me, as I could end up with my truck in the shop for months and the issue might still be there. Then they started saying it was the valve covers, which it seems like those didn't help you.

I'm not saying I'm right, but maybe it could give you some peace of mind, because I'm now at 28,500 miles and all still seems good. It is mildly annoying that I'm having to check my oil every 1000 miles in such an expensive truck though.

Yea, I really don’t want a new motor. I don’t feel like it will ever go back together the same, and may develop rattles, or who knows what could be missed or messed up going back together.

I don’t want to constantly be worried about this, it’s my wife’s DD.

I’ll be fighting till bitter end until they make it right.

Question: what brand of oil? What grade? Filter?

Who changes the oil? I’m assuming the dealer.
