Anyone notice a slip when shifting from 7-8?

I realize this is the first overdrive gear. But I notice the Rpms rise during the shift.

Torque converter or lockup? This normal?

Mine does this. I took it in and they updated the TCM and it seemed better for a while, only to return. I have the tach on video when it happens. Also slams into 5th gear when using sport mode, not all the time, but frequently.

I will probably take it back to the dealer if it really starts bugging me again. I am thinking there are some bad parts inside the tranny.

Mine shifted from 7th gear to 1st! Scared me like crazy! I have a tune on it...brought it back to JDM in NJ and they had to remove the tune...update the software from Ford and then put my tune back on. Its been about 2 weeks but so far so good and smoother.

My 19 slips in all gears and jams in and out too. 3rd transmission before the first oil change! Trading it in for a Roush F250 with the powerstroke and 6 speed. The 10 speed has been a nightmare on this truck for me. My 2017 had zero transmission issues except the occasional clunk at slow speeds.

I'm not sure what you mean by slip but the 10 speed is ECT. It's controlled by the computer. It is designed to skip gears, as needed, up and down. E.g., If you're in sport mode and floor it, depending on a billion conditions, the trans could start in 1 and skip to 3 or 4 as needed. If you come to a sudden stop, it may skip from 9 to 1 or 2 etc. If you drive it super gently, you will likely see every gear hit. And by skip I mean a seamless transition to other gears. It shouldn't be slamming or jerky (though sport mode in any trans with a large number of gears have always seemed jerky to me). Also, the manual states that the trans could be a little harsh in the first 1000 miles and while it's learning. Just FYI... hope this helps.

No, he means it feels like it slips, just as he wrote. Has nothing to do with skipping gears. The engine will rev slightly between 7th and 8th gear, at steady throttle. I have been curious about this as well, hopefully we can keep this on track to see if anyone else has the issue.
