So this morning I woke to a notice of my Raptor going into deep sleep mode. Yes, I've read on here issues with this particular notice and it being related to a dead battery and that's pretty much the conclusion I came to as well. That being said, I wanted to share my story. Anyway, 45 minutes of troubleshooting later, I had called my local Ford dealership (where I bought the truck) and explained that my battery was dead. Not just a low charge that needed jumping, but defective (at the time only showed 6.3v on the meter). I told them the battery should be warrantied, I was told to make an appointment and bring it by...... apparently it completely went over their head that the truck was dead and couldn't be jumped. Yes I spoke to roadside assistance but that's another story. This of course was on a day where my alternate vehicle was being worked on so no means of going out to get a battery and what's worse I was late for an appointment to get work done on the truck. Long story short I got the issue resolved with the help of a good friend but all the people that SHOULD have been helping were pretty much useless and the stock battery was pretty much garbage. Sorry for the rant but I felt like venting.

This is what Ford has yet to grasp. If you spend 70k or 80k on a truck, you would like the service to feel like that. I wish I could get the same service from Ford as I get from my Lexus dealer. But I know it will never happen despite the prices of the vehicles continuing to go up.

My battery was dead on my 2019 with less than 3k miles. Thankfully was able to jump it and brought it to the dealer who swapped it out with a new battery. Not sure if it's just the quality of the stock batteries.

All batteries are stamped with a "born on" date. That date starts the clock on the life time rating of the battery. Most are 5 years.

So if your truck is 2 years old, and under 36,000 miles you should get a new battery per your new car warranty if you are beyond 36,000 miles, you would get a new battery at a prorated cost. In your case, a 2 year old battery has 3 of 5 years left, so you would get a 60% discount on the new one.

Just had my battery replaced today. Full warranty on the battery replacement. 5,200 miles on the truck and haven't added any extra load on the battery. I do have a dash cam and external lights but they all work when the truck is switched on.

**Updated. Ended up they didn't replace my battery as they said their test said it was ok. This morning, autostop didn't work because the battery was low. Guess I'll swap it out on my own. :(

ford service really sucks...

Yeah, refusing to hand out new batteries to people who do not have defective batteries really makes them suck. Seriously, if the battery tests good- do you expect them to just give you a new battery? If so, I'm going to grab one for all of my Fords right before the warranty runs out.

His truck is not stock, and they are not responsible for chasing electrical drains on vehicles with aftermarket equipment. If I was a dealer/tech, I would not want to touch a truck with electrical drain issues that is not stock electrically. So many people do total hack jobs with wiring. I've seen home residential parts used (wire nuts, romex, switches), scotchlocks, insulation removed and a wire wrapped onto the bare portion, 100W lights running though a cheap plastic switch instead of a relay etc. I don't even do this shit for a living, so god knows what a dealer tech has seen.

I would completely disconnect the dash cam and lights, fully charge the battery, then see if it's still ends up draining down. If so, take it back to Ford and ask them to diagnose the problem under the warranty coverage.

Our local dealer does too. I didn't even bother with them when my battery died 2 years in. The dealer an hour away is much better. I think the service departments vary by dealer. I probably won't buy another ford strictly because the local service department is that bad.

Err what? I had the battery tested and it tested bad. Ford wanted me to have the truck towed to them from my house, or make an appointment so THEY could test it. I mean..... what? You comment makes no sense, who stated the battery tested fine?
