Well it is going to happen. My 5.4 is showing it’s age and needs quite a bit of attention. So the 3.5 that I have had sitting here for 5 years is going in it place. Also fugured it will be a good time to modify my upper shock mount to accommodate the second Gen 3” shocks.

Any tips would be appreciated and I will keep you guys posted.

This will be cool to watch come together. I put a eco boost in a SCU sand rail, it was a fun car. We stroked the motor to 3.7l turned the boost to 22lbs and it put down 550hp to the tires. It was expensive though!

Would it be easier to buy a used 6.2l off the eBay for less than $3k?

I don’t think it will be to difficult I have a complete 2012 F150 Ecoboost drive train with only 20000 miles on it and I have a complete 2011 EcoBoost F150 for any thing else I need. Sold off enough parts that I only have $1300 into the project.

I don't think this is a good idea, dollar wise.
Nothing is going to fit, a lot of modifications are going to be needed, frame rails, motor mounts and tranny mounts.
Electronics are not compatible, new PCM and BCM are going to be needed and who knows all the modules that would need to be swapped.
Gear shifter, steering wheel, Nav, info cluster, radio are not compatible with the 3.5L PCM and BCM

I do wish you a lot of luck though!!!

This is what I've always heard. I saw a few GEN1 "ecoboost Raptors" over the years but all of them started with an Ecoboost F150 and put all the Raptor suspension parts, body panels, axles etc to make and Eco Boost GEN1. Never the other way around.
