Actually I couldn’t tell on my phone you didn’t have a bump plate. I thought it as a requirement, if not than I might just do the plate for hydraulic bump now so I’m not replacing u-bolts later when I install one.

I’ve got a set of the super sumo helpers, I’ll probably run those until I get hydraulic bumps.

He has a bump plate in that picture. The u bolts are running threw the plate same set up on RPG and SVC.

I havent seen anyone mention the highway bounce of the stock shocks:
When driving on cement, the truck hits the seams of the cement and has a bounce to it when empty. At about 75 its enough to shake your voice when talking.

Did anyone have this happen with your stock set up, and the Icons fixed the bounce on the highway?
I am not worried about ICONs Offroad, we have owned them before. But the comments over the 13pages just say "better on highway" and softer. Can anyone help with this set up?

I was looking to go setting 1, with RPG perch collars (1.5").
On the drivers side right behind the shock, there is a frame dampener or something of that nature and under heavy flex it taps the bed. That’s been known to cause that knock you are referring too. Remove it and you should be good to go.

Thanks all. That makes sense and the photos are very helpful.

So do you need the new bump plate to work with the bump & spacer, or is that just an extra?
You can either go with the SDHQ bump plate that goes on the bottom or get the bump spacer and it does the same job. I don’t think you need both of them.

Does everyone that’s running the Icons notice more noise coming from the back of the truck when driving on rough pavement. It’s like rattle and it drives me crazy. Everything’s right nothing loose. I’ve looked to lake sure the spare was tight and back in place since we had to drop it down a little when we were putting the springs in...this is driving me crazy. Or is it the nature of the beast?

I finally installed my icon leafs yesterday and noticed that too. I did my own install and followed the exact torque settings. I even called Icon to verify the torque settings because they are a lot less than the Ford specs. I just chalked it up as being a bit more stiffer than factory springs as well a few more leafs springs. I also went with option #2 3rd leaf replacement. Ride is great!

I only have 100 miles on mine in setting two and I think what you guys are hearing is your shackles.

Are you both running stock shackles? Stock shocks?

My icons don’t make anymore noise than my deaver +2HD and they did not make any odd noise.

I have camburg stock length shackles and no noise. My brother runs stock shackles and his squeaked for the first week after install. Also take a look at your brake line on the frame.
