No, just makes emptying the can easier. My can, and I’m sure a lot of other users, would rest against the foam engine cover. Making it mandatory to remove the cover every time you emptied. Just saves an extra couple of minutes during the emptying process.

Plus with the new mounting location and hoses, it fits better (under the engine cover) and not scrunched up against the firewall wiring harness area.

So much easier to route these hoses now. Not terribly happy that I had just purchased this thing a month before the update but it is what it is.

I received my JLT Catch Can from CJ Pony Parts on 2/16. It took awhile because the aluminum color was on backorder. It shipped with the Firewall Mount so they must have just switched to the Battery Pan Mount.

I might just stay with the Firewall location. The Battery Pan Mount location is really close to the positive battery terminal if you have to ever Jump Start. Does the battery mount arm vibrate at all or is it good and solid with the catch can hanging on it?

I don't want to spend another $50 either for the Relo Kit unless CJ Pony Parts will ship it to me no charge. What is the downside of the firewall mount besides cutting a piece of foam under the engine cover to clear the PCV hose?

^^ Both will work. The problem with the firewall is that the bottom of the catch can made contact with the engine cover. So there was no room to remove the can without removing the cover. $50 being worth not removing 2 bolts and engine cover every couple of thousand miles to empty is owner’s descretion.

Note: the new mount did not seem to be an issue with the terminal. It is directly in the middle of the battery.

Reach out to JLT directly and they should take care of you. I ordered around the same time you did from CJ and got the FW bracket. I told them I was expecting the new bracket because the pics on the website showed new bracket. I went ahead and installed it but reached out to JLT to let them know and they sent me the relocation kit no charge. All I used was the new bracket, old hoses worked perfect for me still. I have a gen2 non-raptor 3.5 xlt.

Did you use the existing hoses or the new hoses?

I did not use the new hoses, I also drilled another hole in front of the bracket to snap my wire harness tree back in. 1e0fcdb8d8dd57064c6f5237b899100d.jpg
