I heard from a local tuner that COBB is having some problems sourcing some 2019's to test & certify. They like to make sure what they release is good quality, but have not had much luck getting any 2019's for "free" to work with.

Talked to Cobb a few days ago, they are saying April for 2019 tunes. I went with 5star, their 2019 tunes are available now and I got an excellent deal. We'll see how it goes, tuning device gets here Tuesday.

I had a 5* on my EB Expedition, perhaps not the most power of the tuners, but I put 75k miles on the SUV with zero issues. Only time the hood was opened was the change oil and fill fluids. I also liked the fact that I could purchase a 50k or 100k warranty from them covering the entire powertrain. thanks

Yeah that's exactly the reason I went with them. I talked extensively with Lou at Stage 3 about how they came to offer a full powertrain warranty for the 5* tune. 5* leaves power on the table and has a more conservative tune to keep things reliable. Not to say other tunes aren't reliable, I have heard people having good reliability with several different tuners. 5* just takes a more balanced approach with power vs. longevity and so they are able to offer that warranty. I feel good about my purchase, we'll see if anything changes when I get the tune flashed on Tuesday.

I flashed my 2019 truck with the 91 Octane Performance tune from 5* today and did some driving, about 80 miles so far with some hard pulls and casual around-town driving. I will say there is a noticeable increase in power, in sport mode it's almost too quick to use for around town/traffic. It pulls really, really hard. So I am happy with that part. I am not happy with the transmission behavior right now. The truck seems to be constantly hunting for gears and seems confused. It will randomly slam itself into an inappropriate gear for seemingly no reason. About 3 times today it has gone completely out of gear and red-lined. There is just no rhyme or reason to the way it's shifting. Already working with 5* to see what can be done for it.

Wow sorry to hear, let us know how it works out. Does the tune you have contain a transmission tune, or is that stock?

Common with the 5*, curious why you went with them after all the negative feedback and all the other options available. At least they are working with you so far....

It contains a trans tune but per 5* they barely touch the sport mode shift points as Ford has it pretty nice already and I agree. I drive in sport mode the majority of the time since I live in the middle of nowhere and there's really no traffic so I like to drive like a *******.
