Man this sucks. My wife's car was attempted to be broken into a couple of weeks ago as well. They didn't get in since the lock has a plate that doesn't allow them to break in. All here in the Houston area. On the west side of Houston I have heard of at least 15 people having their trucks or cars broken into. Getting ridiculous, time to start knocking off a few of these people doing it.

Do you know what triggered your alarm? Do you have the Ford Ultrasound "Perimeter Plus" system upgrade? I am under the impression that if the door lock is twisted after getting punched in then the alarm gets disabled since the truck thinks a key unlocked the door.

I have the 802A package but no special upgrades. The doors were locked so even though the cylinder and latch were broken the truck sensed the door open without it being unlocked. Once that happens, the truck gives you about 5 seconds to unlock the doors or start the engine before setting off the alarm.

if the battery dies after I jimmy and lock proof the truck

Happened to a forum member, he had to pop the hood with a coat hanger, threw the front, then jump his battery to get the doors open.

No need to brake a window.

Sorry to hear about the bad news. I just bought a 2019 SCREW myself in south Texas and this seems to be a disturbing trend. Does anyone have a diy or know how to remove the key cylinder?

In CA and haven’t had any issues with my Raptor and even have an NRA life member sticker on the back window. It seems like TX has had a lot of Raptor break ins based on the recent forum posts. The other guy left the key fob in the glove box or the dealer did and that makes for an easy target.

The real question? We know the truck can not be stolen if the key is in your possession, other than a tow truck.

1) Whats stops a break in?

And

2) What prevents a break in?

My answer to 1) is probably nothing, but remove the lock in the door or add jimmy jammer is maby a 80% solution.

My answer to 2) add any simple to install alarm like the Ford Perimiter plus, bought here

1) A large dog, in my case Doberman
2) see #1
Stipulation....only works when dog is in truck.

The point is having a design flaw with the lock that makes it take 3 seconds to break into the truck makes our trucks a prime target. Otherwise they might pass our truck by and break into something else. A lot of thieves don't like to break windows because it's noisy and it's a guaranteed alarm. When they broke into my truck the alarm never went off.

can you clarify -how- they opened the door?

did they just force turn the lock cylinder with a screw driver?
or
did they pull the handle and channel lock rotate the lock to unlock the door?

Do you have a link to the thread where the guy popped the hood with a coat hanger? I'm all in on this mod, but I want to make sure I know what I'm getting into.
