My Raptor got broken into

After reading this I ordered jimmy jammers for front and rear doors, $124 shipped. I’m waiting to sell my console vault from my gen 1 before I get one for the new truck, until then I don’t leave valuables in the truck. I also have a 107lb Doberman who is a good deturant when the weather isn’t too cold or hot.

This is such a very poor design from Ford. May as well not lock any F series vehicle... Also never keep anything valuable in there.

I think we need to think bigger. Personally I'll be contacting Ford to see if they are willing to do anything for this obvious design flaw of leaving the lock cylinder exposed and vulnerable and flimsy piece of plastic covering the locking mechanism. If that doesn't go anywhere I'm going to look into hiring a lawyer. I'm not a litigious kind of guy but this is obviously a design flaw and a security concern. You should have a reasonable expectation of security with your vehicle, especially at this price point. I'm not expecting the truck to be impenetrable, but come on, this is very clearly a design flaw.

It is really disappointing to learn how easy it is to enter our trucks. This is clearly a design flaw! As well as the cam phasers, door latches freezing, and more to be discovered. Shame on you ford!!

Sorry to hear man. I'm not just trying to scare you guys with all my conspiracy theories over in my thread, this is a big deal and it's starting to happen a LOT to newer F-series trucks. Especially in Texas near the border. This isn't just a coincidence. They have discovered how easy it is to break into these trucks and it's going to keep happening more and more.

Glad I live in North Texas, but I'm gonna have to be on point when I go south on trips. Wife wonders why I'm always so anxious with our vehicles down south...

If somebody wants to break in, they're going to get into your truck. Spend a couple bucks on some slim jims, wedges and dowel rods and you can get into anything. I could break into my 2005 Ram using the antenna to hit the unlock button, and I had to do that once on the side of the freeway thanks to the wind blowing my door closed.

I saw your thread with your Raptor being stolen in less than 24 hours and it sucks how much easier it is to break in to a the Gen2 Raptors. Seems even worse that the last generation of F-150's.

Seeing as how easy it was to break in to the 2010-2014 F-150's it appears Ford didn't care enough to address such a huge shortcoming on the 2015+ trucks.

I saw your thread with your Raptor being stolen in less than 24 hours and it sucks how much easier it is to break in to a the Gen2 Raptors. I guess the latest generation of F-150's are even easier to break in to now.

The 2010-2014 was fairly easy to break in to as well. I guess Ford didn't care enough to address such a huge shortcoming on the 2015+ trucks.

Yeah and I just want to bring some awareness to it and maybe we can get something done about it. As consumers we don't really just have to take the L and move on, we can make some noise about it. Owning a Raptor should not be a worrisome, scary experience. It's not like any car manufacturer can make cars immune to theft, I get that, but this design flaw makes our trucks an easy target because criminals know about the design flaw and are taking advantage of it. It makes our trucks a target above and beyond other cars. Thieves will pass over other vehicles and look for ours specifically, know what I'm saying? It's about a reasonable expectation of security/safety.

If you look at the 2020 superduty that was shown, you will see that Ford came up with a different door handle. It looks like what other manufacturers are using to help prevent events like the OP experienced.
