My buddy and his wife and his 18 Ruby Red Screw and my wife and I and our 19 Ruby Red Scab left Las Vegas and headed for Death Valley for 4 days. We stopped in Ryolite (Ghost town) saw the “Bottle House” along with several decaying buildings.

Then we took the Titus Canyon trail down into Death Valley. This is a really scenic trail through a narrow deep canyon that you would not want to be in during a rain storm.

Then as we got on the pavement going through Death Valley with its dips and curves, we ramped it up and hit 96 mph on some of the straights. The dips were a blast.

We ended our day at the Inn in Death Valley, which was closed for years, but now has been completely remodeled and updated. Very nice. We both got Casita rooms that came with a golf cart, as they are separate from the main Inn. Of course, we ended up racing the carts up the trail. The next morning we found a Coyote looking over the valley right in front of our Casita.

Monday we were heading back to Vegas, but of course, not in a direct line. We ran up to Zabriskie Point, Keene Mine and finished at Chloride Cliffs, found a few mud puddles and then back to Vegas.

The trucks worked great, from rock crawling, to high speed desert trails (60 mph down a trail) to high speed pavement runs (several times in excess of 90 mph), we had a ball. I just wish they would stay clean.

Love the Raptor.

Great shots. We were in DV four years ago just a few months after getting our Raptor and it was still bone stock! Titus Canyon was one of my favorite trails but I had to laugh at all the rental cars on the trail! We also did Lippincott Road and while there were a couple of very tight sections it was still a blast.

This April ROC has a run in Death Valley... several of the trails you hit are part of our run along with many and this time I get to go with a slightly more modified Raptor :)
