quick update:

I am 4wd now! I got to pre-run half the course for prerunners at texplex last week. The truck worked REALLY well. I have some shock tuning still left to do to get it perfect, but we got rained out the day of the fun run, so it'll have to wait till next time.

I either forgot to zip tie the abs sensor to the brake line or the zip tie let loose, so the sensor wire had a fight with the brake rotor and lost. Waiting for a replacement to show up and ordered an extra because i know itll happen again.

I added my sdhq extended shackles back onto the truck. I now need rear brake lines that are about 5" longer (being made).

I am dropping my truck off to be wrapped on the 17th. ( woo hoo!)

I ordered SVC track bars for the rear. ( going to stay spring over because I don't feel that I need to go sprung under based on how the truck drives and handles.)

I also ordered the following to finish out the bed and be a little safer:

schroth ralleye 4 harnesses

additional swag off road action packer mounts.

some mac's tie down tracks.

a 30 qt cooler ( my 45 qt is a little too big)

beefier CV boots for the front

I also plan to modify the SVC bypass rack a little bit to mount my proeagle jack standing up instead of laying down. ( it will create a little extra room in the bed.)

I am on the fence as to whether I'm going to swap my rear RPG bumper out for an SVC rear. I REALLY dont want to give up the backup sensors.

For the most part, the donkey should be finished before the end of the year ( for this stage).

In the spring I'll have currie widen the rear axle. At the same time I'll most likely upgrade to alcon brakes.

Looking forward to having the truck complete!

Hey Zombiekiller
The next time you take pics, can you snap a few pics of the rear suspension. I am interested in how much room was taken out of the bed and what was done under the bed. Also what are the advantages of sprung over vs sprung under?

Under the bed?

I can take pics of the size of the holes. TMX welded plates onto the frame where the factory upper mounts were. Also new lower shock mounts. IIRC the bump strike pads were also welded on bc I borked getting the center pin of the leaf perfect when I swapped shackles.

my set up would be a bit different if you arent doing bedsides, but i'll snap some pics.

Under the bed and in the bed as well. I will be doing bedsides just not sure which ones I will go with. I have several months before I pull the trigger. Thanks

I bought my first Purely cosmetic part today. :3638400157_e7de35b0

Decided to order an icon composites CF hood vent to match the fenders and bedsides. When the truck is wrapped, the tops of the bulges will show CF via cutouts with PPF overtop. The hood vent will be CF.

The grill, b pillars, side view mirror caps, tailgate applique and the tops of the bedsides will be wrapped using a pretty cool pressed carbon fiber looking film that was just released at SEMA.

I am on the fence as to whether or not I'm going to keep and install the morimoto headlights that I bought. I wasn't impressed when I saw the beams from them on my friend's truck, but I hear they need to be adjusted ( and he did not adjust them other than beam cutoff vertically. )

We'll see how long it takes to get the rest of the bits. Hopefully, they will all show before Christmas, so while i'm off between the holidays I can grind through finishing up all the installs.

Next time you have your rear seat down could you please share a pic of how you have mounted the body of your TK-790H radio and relay panel?

Thanks,
K

there ya go. I'll take underneath pics once my traction bars get here and I'm under the truck.

I'm almost done with my bed setup. Need to get the long tracks installed, make tension rods tying the swag mounts together, modify where my jack mounts and sort out a permanent mount for the tredz.

Wow that’s intricate. Is that where the gas and water are going to stay?

yep. The roptopax mounts are bolted to the top swag box mount on both sides.

Running 4 , 8 gal action packers is good for me. Helps separate everything nicely. None of the bins are too heavy, and a replacement action packer is $25 tops, instead of $300 like pelican cases.
