I actually had the same problem. Changed the oil last week at about 16k miles. It was a super clean change, maybe a few drops of oil on the floor. Nothing else. I drained about 4 quarts. I have not taken it to the dealer as of yet. Was going to check it one to two times a month. If I see the oil line going down I will take it in. Or do you guys think I should take it in now? I’ve had 2 oil changes by the dealer already and they have never said anything to me.

9C4BDAE3-37B4-4B61-8E2E-EE11D8C6F1EE.jpeg Just got my 2018 Raptor out of service.5000 miles new. Engine light was on, engine power was limited. It was 3qts low. I had similar problem with my 2017 several times, til I got a new one out of them. They always said it was a cam sensor, or oil pump, but every time it was several qts low. They said they replaced both rocker/valve covers with new ones that have baffles. This new design will keep the oil from aspirating.

Did you check the oil level after the dealer did the oil change?

Regular oil level checks are a great idea, especially on a turbo engine.

I haven’t been to the dealer for an oil change in almost 20 years. It suits me to DIY oil changes.

What he said. No one cares about your car except you. If you do your own oil changes then you will know you did it right and when you are under the car, you will spot any potential issues.

Been doing my own oil changes since I was 16.

I didn’t check my oil after it got changed. I got 2 free oil changes from them, that’s the only reason I brought it to them. I hate bringing my vehicles to the dealership. It always comes back with issues like door dings or curb rashes. I like changing my own oil because you will do it right and you will know if there are issues. I just checked my oil today after about 750miles and it is still good. Just going to keep an eye out and make sure it stays that way.

And I do wonder how many quarts of oil they put in.

Definitely worth monitoring closely. I don’t mind the Jackson Pollack looking dipstick, I just hate having to get a stepladder to reach the darn thing.

I checked mine at about 3k miles and it was half low on the stick between max and min. added a half quart to top it off. It was about what I expected after having owned a turbo vehicle before.

PCV systems can go bad and cause extra oil get burnt in the intake. Or if there is an issue with oil flow to turbos you can burn seals super fast which will cause them to leak into the intake or exhaust sides. Check the exhaust for signs of oil burning at idol?
