Wait for 19 or just buy 18 leftover?

Congrats and welcome to the waiting Club :Big Laugh:

Yeah I don't get why dealers are still trying to move 18's at MSRP or some even over. I get it that it is a business but come on even at MSRP they have wiggle room compared to what it actually cost them. So now that 19's can be ordered you would think they would be more willing to work with a potential Raptor buyer on an 18 that might be thinking about a 19. However NO.

I guess luck was on my side when I picked up my fully loaded 18 Leadfoot with beadlocks at 3000 below sticker and did well on my trade to boot. My wife fought me on this bigtime, I knew it was a good deal.

I had 2019 on order (see attached) and ended up buying new 2018 yesterday for $6k+ off sticker. Deals are out there--let the phone be your friend. It's month end in a few days and great time to steal one.

Can't go wrong with 18 or 19...just comes down to $$.

For me I didn't need the 19 options and additional pricing. I'm very happy with this 18.

Happy hunting.

I'll tell you why. Having a Raptor or 2 in the showroom to show as "unobtainium", gets the wife to give the OK when they point them to the Platinum, and salesman says "just as nice for 10g's less."

My thoughts anyway. Sitting on a Raptor, just to have one, may be driving customers to trucks they can get a "deal" on.

Yeah I wouldn’t mind getting an 18 but the dealerships weren’t budging off MSRP so might as well go 19, not in a rush

I would agree with you because when looking at the other higher end F150s the MSRP is close to MSRP of Raptor but they have more options to deal on them. I mentioned to my sells guy that if it was up to my wife she really likes the limited but she said might as well get Raptor as price is about the same. He said yeah but I can drop that limited price $10k and sell it. His reason is there all over the east coast but Raptors not so much so like you said people come into a dealer looking for a Raptor but end up in something else because of cost. So I guess for the dealer it all works out.
