Replace the muffler, add the SPD TAs and be done with it. You can do a lot more to make it louder, but that is not necessarily going to be a good sound, just more volume.

I did SPD TAs and a FlowMaster FlowFX straight-through muffler replacement purely for sound reasons. I enjoy the extra volume when I want it, but it is quiet while driving normally. The H-pipe muffler replacement videos from AWE FG I have heard sound pretty nice, as well.

I have the 802A B&O sound system and this is the first I have heard it does not have the interior sound enhancements. I know for sure, mine sounds way better in the truck now and I am starting to like the noise better than my True-Dual 6.2L Gen 1.

I believe 2017, 2018, and most likely 2019 Raptors all have the interior sound enhancement feature. I have not heard that it was discontinued in some way, either.

I may do an exhaust enhancement, but nothing too crazy. Out of the options the AWE kits has me interested, but the FlowMaster FlowFX caught me off-guard and sounded really good! I'm keeping mods to a bare minimum with this ride...

I just installed an AFE CAI and was disappointed by the results. I was looking to increase the sound of the intake and it barely made any difference. Right after I installed the AWE 2FG and wow it made a huge difference! The engine note just got deeper and loader, I think you can hear what is called turbo bark also but I only went around the block. I didn't expect HP gains and did these mods for the sound. If I did it again I would just go AWE 2FG.

I could be wrong, but I think the engineers were trying(and exceeded) to subdue the intake/turbo soundtrack for some reason... I, too, was looking to gain some of that noise back by going with a CAI(Roush's enclosed version)... anyway, it's not C.A.R.B. certified so most likely can't get it where I live.

Stock exhaust note is neutered, as well, but it's a little audible when you get on it. I'm eyeing AWE, but undecided on 2FG or 1FG... I want to retain the OEM tips... any particular reason why you chose the 2FG?

I went with the 2fg because after examining the recordings of the exhaust, it seemed to me like adding the resonator made the note more aggressive but not deeper and I didn't want to replace the tips. I need to take the family around and it's my daily driver, plus I can always add the resonator and/or tips cause its modular.

I called AFE and discussed my goal and they advised me the momentum GT would do the trick. It looks nicer than stock and is slightly louder but not worth the extra money to me.

It's not like it sounds like a ricer. JMO.
I think it sounds like a crappy 90s GM V6, which is about as good as a ricer in my book.

I like this truck, but IMO it sounds bad. Didn't keep me from buying it, but if someone thinks the noise it makes is going to get a gearhead to turn their head because it sounds badass, they're kidding themselves. It's something about the interaction between the firing order, the angle of the V, the intake sounds masked. Likely nothing can be done to make it sound good, just louder.

Hell, we were discussing Gen2 Raptor sounds on other enthusiast forums well before I bought one (this truck gets a lot of attention among sports cars guys); the opinion is unanimous, the sound is unfortunate. Worse than what was done to the M3 exhaust, and that one gets GIFs comparing it with a lawnmower droning...

That said, I do like hearing the turbos do their thing with the windows down.

WRT aftermarket exhausts, even if the power is unchanged, although it's in a suboptimal location for it, they can save some weight which can offset something like a set of Deavers.

I must be in the minority, for a v6 I don’t think it sounds terrible at all and I have a C7GS In the garage with Kooks headers and NPP. My 14 raptor had the black coated magnaflow and Corsa res delete and it sounded good.

I need to hear the AWE in person, not in a rush to add an exhaust but the weight savings are attractive with all the weight I continue to add....ADD bumpers, Lights, recovery gear, deavers, bumpstops and now looking to add a max modular rack and tent...[emoji23]

I hear you WRT weight. I've done Bakflip, Deavers, SVC bumps, BD lights this weekend... I've been keeping track, started at 5860 lbs wet, I've added ~172lbs so far, probably another 6 - 10 lbs with the BD lights. Exhaust would get me back 40 to 50 lbs... I'm avoiding bumpers for now.

I ran ARH on my corvettes, sounded pretty damn good.

ARH and Kooks are they only way to go!

Yeah I have the Bakflip as well, builtright bedsides with 2x 3 gal gas cans and 1.75 gal water on the other side, tools, plus my wheels and tires are heavier, brakes are 9lbs lighter at each corner:) Tent and rack would add 200lbs! Maybe I should go 37” and some of the carbon fiber bedsides with AWE exhaust[emoji23][emoji51]

@brettmess24 Did you do the 2 piece rotors?

I've been thinking about ways to offset weight increases, seems my realistic options are $$$$$ wheels, the 2 piece brakes, exhaust, and I imagine one could just turn down the exhaust after the axle and get a little more wight savings. I'm not yet ready for CF fenders, haha!

Prob my next weight increase are going to be fox factories, but I'm forcing myself to run the stocker shocks in the desert some first.
